Word Automation - throws error 5174 opening file with '#' in filen
Bug Report (can't find out how to submit bug reports other than here) Summary of bug - Word 2007 automation object throws error 5174 with any filename that has the pound sign (#). I have run into this bug only when using the Automation object for Microsoft Word 2007. I have not tried this with other versions of Word. The file I am opening is a "doc" file, NOT a "docx" or "docm". The filename contains a pound sign (#). I am able to open this file using any other method (File->Open; double-clicking from Windows Explorer; etc). But when opening using a Word.Application object with the Documents.Open method, the script throws the Error 5174, which is a File Not Found error. I am able to open any other file with this same code, and only by removing the pound sign am I able to open this file with the script. Error 5174 (File Not Found) is stating that Word cannot find the file. Because the file exists, and because Word is able to open the file using other means, this error is being incorrectly generated. Please fix the bug so that the Word automation object can handle files with the pound sign correctly. Or, if the object cannot handle files with pound signs in their filename, please create a new error message pertaining to the real issue. Grammar check not working
Hello, I am using Word 2007 and have a problem with grammar and punctuation errors. I deliberately put two spaces between words, do not put space after a comma, write long sentences and finish a sentence without a verb but the green underline never appears. I was given a project folder containing several dozen files. So where is the workspace file normally located? If I don't have a workspace file how can I cerate one? Using VC version 6. Hi, I know that I can use "File Locations" in "Options" so that whenever I use the "Open..." command in Word, it will open to a specific folder. Opening Excel Workbooks
I'm running into an issue where if I click on an Excel file through My Documents, it doesn't automatically bring it up. I get the toolbar but the actual spreadsheet doesn't appear on the screen. opening .bak file
Hi, I hope someone can help! I recently was performing a compacting operation on my outlook express folders. My computer shutdown due to a power failure and I lost some emails from a few of my folders. I was however able to get the .bak files (of the .dbx files that were lost) out of the recycle bin. I am running a Windows NT 4.0 network with workstations with Windows XP Pro. One user has Outlook 2000 on his notebook. He has a profile to log on to the machine itself (i.e. not on the Windows NT domain) for when he's "on the road" and one for logging on to the NT network domain to use the printers and network facilities. opening .bak file
Hi, I hope someone can help! I recently was performing a compacting operation on my outlook express folders. My computer shutdown due to a power failure and I lost some emails from a few of my folders. I was however able to get the .bak files (of the .dbx files that were lost) out of the recycle bin. If I could open one of these .bak files or convert it back to the .dbx file from which it was created I would retrieve these emails. Can anyone instruct me as to open this .bak file? Trying to read XML file into dataset
Hello. Developing a web site in VS2005, SP1, VB, .NET 2.0, ASP.NET 2.0 on XP Pro, SP2. I eventually want to use a gridview table to view xml data, but right now i can't seem to get my xml data into a dataset so that i can use it. I have an XML file and can open it in IE. There is no XSD or XSL file to go with it. I can't seem to get the XML data into a dataset. I tried using the following code, but it just does nothing. It doesn't give an error. Hello, I am upgrading from DPM 2010 RC to DPM 2010 RTM, 64 bit version, on Win 2008 R2 standard. The RC is working without any issues. The upgrade scenario is supported. Accessing the same PST file from multiple WinXP Pro IDs
I am running a Windows NT 4.0 network with workstations with Windows XP Pro. One user has Outlook 2000 on his notebook. He has a profile to log on to the machine itself (i.e. not on the Windows NT domain) for when he's "on the road" and one for logging on to the NT network domain to use the printers and network facilities. On my personal notebook I have Office XP and I was able to configure Outlook's data files (Tools -> Options -> Mail Setup -> Data Files) so that I would access the same PST file under both profiles.
