Running batch files (with spaces) from Excel
I am trying to run a .bat file from Excel. The Shell command works fine as long as there are no spaces in the path. So, for instance, running
works ok. But
does not. The macro runs without an error, but the .bat file is simply not run.
Ideally, I would like to enter the path and file in a cell, and then click a button to run a macro to run the batch file. This means using double quotations
i = Shell (""C:\My Apps\BFile.bat"", 1)
would not be appropriate, as I am trying to use
Bat_File = Range("A2").Value

Why am I losing disk space and what can I do to resolve this issue
How are you backing up your database? Have you tried an offline defrag?

I keep saving my signature with single spacing. It appears properly in the
signature window under tools, options, mail format, but when I open a new
email to send, my signature is double spaced. I can manually change this in
the new email under format, paragraph, but I can't find a place that is
overriding my setting.

I am using the following formula to calculate how much time has passed since
a particular event.
This returns the passage of time in full years. I am stumped trying to get
the result in years and months such as "3 years 6 months." Can anyone help?

Using the generic BrowseForFolder function, the returned string value has a
square at the end of the path's folder name. I never realized it before, but
after single clicking a folder in Windows Explorer there appears to be an
extra non printing character. What is the character and how do you remove it
from the string.

When printing or typing on a spreadsheet, the gridlines appear to be spaced
correctly at the top of the spreadsheet, however, by the end of the sheet,
the spacing is off. Any data you input appears not to be in between the
gridlines by the end of the sheet. At times the data looks crunched

I'm working on a template in Word 2004 (to be used on Mac and Windows from
2003 - 2008) and tables are winning right now.
When I insert a table, it using the Table Grid table style and has no space
above and below. If I edit the table style Table Grid and choose to modify
the Table Properties, the first time I edit the style it will apply the
settings I enter in Distance from surrounding text or Vertical Position.
However, if I apply the style and then edit it again to tweak the distance,
it ignores it and doesn't change anything.

Use the function palette to enter the TRIM function in a column to the
right of the names.

very weird. my daughter was typing a paper. Not sure how she managed it, but
words will have extra space and the little green squigly. When I remove one
other extra spaces appear before after the edit. It's as if removing one
extra space adds other to other parts of the document. I have never seen
anything like this, nor can I find a solution. Much appreciated for any
advice. The document is in 2007 DOCX format. It started out in Windows,
Office 2007. I then moved it to a MAC Office 2008 to see if I could get a
handle on it there. Same problem.

The cell it is charting as an if function in it to display a blank cell.
So when D3 is blank it should display in cell D6 a blank. But when it charts

4 1Mb Ram sticks in 4 slots. I know they are suppose to go in pairs.
What happens if I put in 2mb pieces? I know that XP 32-bit has a limit of
4Gb. From what I was told, in othe posts it seems, they just don't work if it
is too much. It's unrecognized. But I am just making sure.
