"Open With" issue when right-clicking a file

When I right-click on a GIF image (or mp4 file--that's another example) and
select "Open With," QuickTime Player appears twice! Listed as choices are
Internet Explorer, QuickTime Player, Paint, MS Digital Image Suite, QuickTime
Player (again!), Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, and Jasc Paint Shop Photo
Album 5. What could be wrong, and how can I fix it? Thanks and Happy New
Year.

If QuickTime is the default in both cases, simply open QT and deselect these
file types, as applicable. You'll find this option in the Preferences section.

QuickTime was not the default, nor was GIF selected as a file type.
However...I was finally able to get rid of the "extra" QuickTime by simply
uninstalling the program, then reinstalling it from the Apple web site.
Thanks David!

Manulipate "Open With" Menu
How can I manipulate the "Open With" menu in Windows 7? I have applications I would like to have an option to use on certain types of data, and "Open With" seems like the perfect solution if I could only add my choice to the list. For example, use VLC to watch a .iso move file. Windows 7 only gives a choice to burn the .iso file to my DVD burner and I would like to ad an application like VLC to the "Open With" list so I have the option to also watch the move. Thanks. Having a custom toolbar open with workbook
I would like to know if there's a way to have a workbook open and a custom toolbar also opens. Then, when the workbook closes, the default (or remaining) toolbars are left so that the custom toolbar closes with the closing of the workbook. Or better still.... that the default toolbar (whatever opens upon opening Excel) is replaced with the new toolbar on opening that workbook. The main reason I want to do this is because I do not want buttons positioned all over the worksheets (not enough room and gets a bit messy) as I want special buttons to be available when accessing different workshee...

Replace Excel File Open with Windows Explorer
I'd like to have much more flexibility in Excel's File Open box. Can it be set to show a folder tree on the left with files on the right, as in Windows Explorer ? Or can I set Excel to use WE to open and save files instead ? I as a professional accountant I access many files in Office each day - nearly all with WE, as both Excel and Word are deficient on this. I use Office 2003 Couldn't you just pop open Windows Explorer and use that to open any workbook you want (just double click on the filename)? (I don't have a suggestion for saving the files, though.) Hi All, Working offlist with Steve Maser, I found a solution that should allow to batch process files that refuse to open through a Double-click with the Service Pack 1 for Office 2008.
