Doomsday approaches, and in a few hours someone will have to switch off the lights. The time has come for an undignified slow race to be the last to post in this group, so all start back-pedalling now...

Thanks for your companionship over the past 4+ years – see you again over at the Annex Café or, those with the stomach for it, WLSC.

The WLMsgr group which had reasonable amount of daily postings disappeared almost immediately(nttp and web cdo). It’s also dead on aioe.org with 2 posts since Aug 25 fed in from the Eggheads.

Turned out to be a faulty router. purchased a new one over the weekend and installed it on Sunday. Checked VPN (still working), email( still working), RWW started working. I had made no changes to SBS since last post so I had to agree that it was the router. I have learned a lot on this reinstall about preparing properlly and keeping good solid backups of EVERYTHING. Memory slot 0 in Windows CE 5.0
Hello, I have a doubt on Windows CE 5.0 Memory Architecture.... why is necessary to clone the SLOTn assigned to a process into the SLOT0 when the process is running ? Thanks, Paolo One of the reasons is the following: pratically each application uses one or more DLL; a DLL typically has some read only section (code) which can be shared between several applications and read/write section (data) which is not shared because it is different form application to application. The read only section is mapped at the same physical address for every application while the data reside i...

Bear with me, this is the first time I have had to post. I am having an issue installing McAfee antivirus on my mom's system. Why does the E2K3 IS take all available memory?

We have a custom-made migration tool which uses HTTP/WebDAV to import the messages from the old system into each user's Exchange mailbox. We're having a problem during the migration with the IS process eventually using up all available memory on the Exchange server and then becoming non-respoonsive; we have to restart the IS service to continue the migration. Does anyone know why it does this and how we can avoid it? The migration tool processes only one mailbox at a time. We're running the...

Hi! I received this text marked with * below as an answer on a mail for several days ago when I used method CompressFile_1 for compressing file that is located at the bottom. *This will only work with text files, and you may even lose some information after going through the StreamReader and then the StreamWriter in case the file has some characters that don't fit into the default encoding that you are using. And besides, you read the whole file into memory before writing the compressed file. In fact, since the string is stored as Unicode, you are using about twice as many by...
