Hi to all

Is there a way read/write ini file functon in EVC++ MFC?

Thanks

Sefer

Either from your CWinApp derived class or from a pointer to it...

void CMyApp::SomeFunction()
{
    WriteProfileString( sSection, sKey, sValue );
    WriteProfileInt( sSection, sKey, nValue );
}

void CSomeOtherClass::SomeFunction()
{
    AfxGetApp()->WriteProfileString( sSection, sKey, sValue );
    AfxGetApp()->WriteProfileInt( sSection, sKey, nValue );
}

My saviour Frank again :)
Thanks your answer Frank.

My ini file name PosMcrs2.ini
and
section = [General]
key = CheckDecimal=1 (or 0)

On your code how to know which ini file 'll read.

I think I have to write some codes between BEGIN_MESSAGE_MAP and
END_MESSAGE_MAP(), is it true?

I'm using EVC++ 4.0 SP4.

In Evc does not have an api WritePrivateProfileString, in evc mfc.
There is only WriteProfileString or WriteProfileInt.
But these api's does not have file name parameters.
:(

No, the message map is not related to ini files. Use
WritePrivateProfileString/ReadPrivateProfileString for ini files.  These
API's have a file name parameter.

Don't know anything about EVC++ but my guess it writes the .ini file
as yourapp.ini where yourapp is the name of your application. On
windows systems this normally resides in the Windows folder.

This is true and I suspect it is to keep applications from creating hundreds
of .ini files on a limited platform. The .ini file it will write to will
have the same name as the application. It may be found in the Windows
folder or the application folder. You can change this by doing the
following...

//First free the string allocated by MFC at CWinApp startup.
//The string is allocated before InitInstance is called.
free((void*)m_pszProfileName);
//Change the name of the .INI file.
//The CWinApp destructor will free the memory.
m_pszProfileName=_tcsdup( _T(d:\\somedir\\myini.ini) );

This obviously needs to be done as quickly in the applications
initialization as possible.

Thanks to all..

Just read from diffent news;
CE.Net doesn't support ini files, so there isn't a function to read ini
files on MFC..

CArchive / CFile wierd behavior--file in use errors
Allow me state the problem, and then I'll tell you what I have tried. Its behavior I've not encountered before and am not quite sure where to start: Using a serializable class (via CArchive / CFile), I am able to read and write files for my application. Elsewhere in the same program (a standard MFC App), I attempted to use another serialized object to load and store a properties file. When the program is first loaded, I can load and store the properties file without incident. If I load the main app data file and then attempt to load the property file, the system ALWAYS returns an e...

Bug Report (can't find out how to submit bug reports other than here) Summary of bug - Word 2007 automation object throws error 5174 with any filename that has the pound sign (#). I am able to open this file using any other method (File->Open; double-clicking from Windows Explorer; etc). But when opening ...

PowerPoint 2003 and separate PDF Files
On a DVD how can I create a PPT Viewer presentation that also includes some separate PDF files containing additional information? I know I could convert the PDF files into separate PPT presentations but they are too long. Is there a way to let the viewer choose to open the PDF files or the PPT Viewer from their DVD drive without letting them copy or edit the videos in the PPT Viewer file? You can add links on the slides to the PDFs. If the user has Acrobat Reader installed, then the PDFs will open when the link is clicked. You used to be able to force Acrobat Reader to run from C...

checking that a file exists
WHat is the best way to determine if a file exists in a particular directory? I don't want to open it, I just want to know if it is there. Excel file open error
I get the below listed message when accessing an Excel file. It started because I created the file on a shared zip drive. Filename cannot be accessed. The file may be read-only, or you may be trying to access a read-only location. Or, the server the document is stored on may not be responding. I'd try copying from the zip drive to my harddrive. Then open from there. My general rule of thumb is to not open files from removable media (and not save there either). I'll save to my harddrive and use windows explorer to copy to a floppy/zip drive.
