On closing application ntdll.dll is crashed

Hi all,

I am getting crash in ntdll.dll just after CDialog::OnOK(); function.
It is not getting crashed everytime. Application is multithreaded, but
it is after i have added new thread. In that I am using vector list
and also maintaining the criticalsection and thread proc close event.
Now, in constructor i m setting NULL to all handles and initialize
critical section and for stopping thread i m setting close event and
my thread is comeout for waitForMultipleObject and returning. I am not
terminating thread/exitthread. As i have read in msdn not to do this
in c++. need to first return from threadproc.

I am also delete critical section close all handles. Only thing i can
think of is i am not clearing my vector list. Is that be a cause of
crashing.

Also this class is derive class of a abstract class. So, that a
pointer will be of a parent class.

Any guesses which i can tryout to solve this crash. As i have marked
no distructor is called of my anyother class.

Please help me out.
Thank you.

First, you have not said what you mean by "crash", which is a largely meaningless word
unless accompanied by (a) the actual text of the error (b) a stack backtrace. Without
knowing what you mean by "crash", there is no possible way to analyze what you are talking
about or suggest a fix.

There are so many possibilities of what can be going wrong that without either a coherent
description of the problem, or a description of the code involved, preferrably both, there
is no way to tell you anything useful.

Shortcut menu in subform crashes Access 2007
Hi all, I have an Access Project, developed in Acc2003. When opened in Acc2007 (on Vista) most functionality works fine - including the custom toolbar. Only trouble is the shortcut menu. Short cut menus are used on several forms - in datasheet view subforms. When they are invoked, they show briefly - then Access crashes. On a few forms the short cut menu works as expected. I have tried the article and the hotfix that tried to address this problem, but it seems that the problem it solved was of another kind. Before the hotfix the standard short cut menu appeared - then crashed Access....

How do I dig deeper into a crash dump with WinDbg to idenify locku
Using KMDF 1.7 to update an OLD NT 4.0 driver that worked on Win2000 sp4 to now work on Win XP sp3, I was able to get the driver to the testing phase in 6 weeks while learning the KMDF (the KMDF is one huge step forward in driver development). In very rare instances, the driver locks up for users signed in as administrators, but the lock-up is easily reproduced in less than 1/2 hour. Can't seem to properly disable a menu item (Dialog-based application)...
In a dialog-based MFC application (VS.NET 2003 on WinXP), I want to disable a menu item (e.g. "save") according to some flags (e.g. data modified). Currently, I am implementing OnInitMenu, and making the following call to enable/disable the item: if( HMENU m = GetMenu( window->GetSafeHwnd() ) ) ::EnableMenuItem( m, commandID, MF_BYCOMMAND | (enable ? MF_ENABLED : (MF_DISABLED|MF_GRAYED) ) ); The problem I have is that the item is actually grayed out, but never disabled: the menu item is still 'inverted' (blue highlight) when the mouse moves over it. XL2007 on XP hangs/crashes when date cells are selected
Hi there Since 2-3 weeks I'm having a very annoying problem with XL2007 on XP. It keeps hanging (the app stops responding) when I select certain cells in certain documents. Why can't I close "Custom Views" for original views?
I hided some rows in Excel, and then added one custom views namefor it. But when I click"Close" the custom views to see the original views that contains un-hided rows, the rows can not be visible. What is the problem? What can I do? One of the shortcomings of the XL help files on this feature, is that they never mention that there's *no way back* to the original worksheet display (view). You'll have to manually "unchange" individually all your changes in order to return to the original display. SO, the *first* thing to do when starting to create "Cus...
