I want to install and configure the Windows 2008 R2, whith Domain and Forest
Level in Windows 2008 R2.
My workstations are Windows XP 3.
Is there any pre-requisite to join Windows XP in Windows 2008 R2 Domain?
No, they should work in the domain as in previous ones.

Help! I am using Excel 2007 SP2 on Windows XP.
When I open my Workbook, the program window opens maximized, but the
workbook window opens smaller and the workbook window does not have
the maximize, minimize or close buttons like usual. I can't figure out
how to fix this. Has anyone else dealt with this before?

I have a problem that Outlook 2007 hangs at the splash screen on
startup if the windows search service is enabled. If I shut it using
task manager I get a message saying 'cannot close as awaiting a
response from you'. I suspect that there could be a dialogue box
hiding behind the splash screen which I cannot see.
It starts fine in safe mode but to get it to start normally I have had
to use msconfig to disable the Windows search service at startup.
I'm using Windows XP Home SP3 and Office Pro 2007
Does anyone know if there is a fix for this?
...Windows 7 / Office 2007
Does anybody know which updates in Windows 7 that "screws" up
macro-enabled spreadsheets in Office 2007 (Enterprise)?
On Windows Vista the update was called KB973593, but I can't find this
update on my system. So what's the equivalent update on Windows 7?
Can someone help me out here?
...Resizing controls in a dialog
I build an application with different dialogs which can be resized by the
user. When this happens, I use OnSize to give new dimensions and positions
to the controls in the dialog. I measure the window and put the controls to
a special ratio of the whole screen; snippet:
GetClientRect(&crClientRect); // complete window
cx = (iBorderHor * 4);
cy = iBorderHor;
sx = crClientRect.Height() - (crObject2Rect.Height() * 6);
sy = (crClientRect.Width() / 4) - (iBorderHor);
m_BrowseTree.SetWindowPos(&wndTop, cy, cx, sy, sx, 0);

I cannot locate a NG for my question. I am new to this movie editing stuff

Using Windows Movie Maker I am attempting to make a video movie
brighter/lighter as it is very dark. I have read the MovieMaker Help Webpage
and can see this can be done but after reading it numerous times and many
attempts I cannot get a dark movie any brighter.
Where can I go to get a step by step guide to accomplish this task?

...Cannot find mfcs42d.pdb for C++ 6.0 on Windows XP at runtime

After I specify the file location at VC98\MFC\Lib

Please advise what to do. Thanks.

i need a .NET WinForms control that can be used to explore the local file

I only need the tree view part of it (which usually is the left frame of the

That control also should be able to filter files by a certain pattern (e.g.
only display *.txt files).
I found http://www.codeproject.com/KB/miscctrl/FileBrowser.aspx but that

...How To Get FTP Shortcut to Open Windows Explorer NOT Internet Explorer
If you drop an ftp:/// url into the Address bar of Windows Explorer, this

I don't have a 64 Bit Windows version installed. Does anyone know if Notepad
that is included with Windows XP/Vista/2008/7 64-Bit editions is 32 or 64
The reason I am asking is that I have developed a tool that fails if the
application that I try to automate is 64 bits, and Notepad is one of these
applications that this tool is used with. It works with 32 Bit application
only regardless of OS edition 32/64-Bits, but not with 64 Bits applications.
