DDE calls fails for Word 2007. ?

I am using win32APIs for DDE call eg. DdeInitialize , DdeClientTransaction
etc..

Now, if the word document is on local machine then my example works fine.
But when i try to access the same file from remote locations ( all rights are
granted ), DdeInitialize fails with error code : DMLERR_NO_CONV_ESTABLISHED.

is it due to the open issue of Word 2007 ?? ( Network based Trust Locations
do not work. Macros in templates hosted in such locations will be disabled.

Money 2007
I recently upgraded from M04 to M07 because it had some bugs that annoyed me, and I wanted to see if any of my FI's had online capability in M07. Well, the online update has been nothing but trouble. I connected directly to Commerce Bank in M04 flawlessly every time, never had a problem. Now in M07, I try all day at different points in the day to get it to connect but it rarely does. I also have an account with a CC company called Direct Merchants Bank. M04 didn't have online access for this, but when I upgraded it was listed. Apparently it doesn't connect directly to the bank th...

excel 2007 error bars, why so complicated...
Hi, How can the task of adding 'error bars' to a graph be simplified with excel 2007. In excel 2003 it is done way easier, almost just by double clicking the graph. In the 2007 version you have to walk through menus and then more menus to get the task done. When one has to do this for 40 graphs then the 2007 way quickly becomes a huge hassle. Any way to make excel 2007 as easy to use as excel 2003 for this particular feature ? (maybe with a macro or some other way to get this added to the 'right' click menu somehow) Thanks, Michael Michael - This is one of the proble...

Windows Installer "Failed to connect to server. Error: 0x800401F0"
I am having a tough problem with a Windows 2003 server. One of the symptoms is that if I reinstall Apache, I get the Windows Installer error "Failed to connect to server. Error: 0x800401F0." This is after installing Windows Installer 4.5. I am constantly repointed to KB 319624, but that article applies only to Windows 2000 Server. Since messing with things such as DCOM permissions is tricky stuff, I am extremely reluctant to make changes on a production server unless I know that it is safe. Does anyone know if a similar article has been written for Windows 2003 or i...

I'm looking for macro script that would do the following: Run from an e-mail, creating a reply, change the subject, change the message type to html, copy text from a draft, paste into the body. any ideas? Thanks, The current message is Application.ActiveInspector.CurrentItem. For an email it returns a MailItem object. See MailItem in the object browser (f2), which tells you what properties and functions are available. For instance, there's a Reply function that returns a new MailItem object. Paste link 2003 excel charts into word 2007
When we try to copy & paste link charts made in excel 2003 into Word 2007 the whole left side is cutoff. This is when using the paste special paste link option & selecting Microsoft Office Excel object. When just accepting the paste default it does not cutoff but is distorted. When using the paste special paste then selecting Microsoft Office Excel object it does not cut it off but doesn't appear to be linked. I thought the default paste is paste/link now? Why doesn't these options work the same? Converting the 2003 excel spreadsheet did not help. Ultimately, I’d just l...

why does publisher change the font when i paste from word?
I have a text box in a Word document containing text in Arial 26pt. I copy the box and paste it into a Publisher document but now the text is Garamond 26pt. Outlook 2007 vs Groupwise feature comparison
Our office is migrating from Groupwise to Outlook 2007. We have been looking for a document that compares features in the two programs. I've found something for Outlook 2003 and a comparison that heavily favors Groupwise. Is there a rather unbiased comparison chart out there? Doing a google search on the term "compare groupwise outlook" returned all kinds of results. One of which is specifically for Outlook 2007 SP1 vs Groupwise 7 SP1: http://www.salisbury.edu/helpdesk/migration/resources/Outlook%20vs%20Groupwise%20Comparision.pdf Karl -- _________________...

Access 2007 crashing with right click on subform
Has anyone else experienced Access 2007 crashing when users right click on the subform (with the intention to use the copy feature in the shortcut menu). I went through Allen Browne's recommended checks (Name Autocorrect Options, references, decompiling, etc) and I even tried installing Office SP1 but no luck. (Access also crashes for me when right clicking on the recordsource proptery of a Form). ds I'm not getting that crash in A2007 SP1. I wonder what's different. Is your subform based on a query that uses more than 1 table? If so, is there are text box for the foreign key ...

Excel 2007 chart line width + axis labelling with VBA
Folks, I'm creating a line-style chart with VBA in Excel 2007 and an attempting to control just two things: 1) The line weight (2 points) and 2) The text direction of the X-axis labels (they're inclined, I want them vertical). Now I can indeed achieve both these settings through the UI (Format Data Series/Line Style/Width and Format Axis/Alignment/Text direction/ Rotate through 270 degrees respectively) and naturally I thought that the macro recorder would help but alas, all I got was .... ActiveSheet.ChartObjects("Chart 19").Activate ActiveChart.Axes(xlCategory)....

Address book from Outlook 2000 to 2007
Before I purchase Office 2007, I would like to insure that the conacts in my Outlook 2000 will automatically move to Office 2007. Do they? The data file in Outlook 2000 is perfectly compatible with Outlook 2007. However, the only way they would move "automatically" is if you were to attempt an in place upgrade of Outlook, which is not recommended when you are skipping several versions. It doesn't even work well if you're upgrading just one version. You would be far better off backing up your current Outlook data file, installing Office 2007 clean, then using your prev...

Exchange 2007: how to accept inbound only selected email recipients of an authoritative domain?
I have a situation in which some users of our exchange 2007 server MUST use an internet domain like Gmail as primary (reply to) smtp address in their mailbox. I wont explain why and know this is risky, but I want to secure this construction as good as possible. - I have set Gmail as authoritative domain in order to accept inbound mail to gmail accounts - I have allowed acceptance of inbound mail from senders with email addresses of authoritative domains (like Gmail) - exchange won't relay gmail to other servers since it won't send gmail outside itself. As a result of this, sending ...

With Due Respect, 2007 .....
With due respect, 2007 did include many improvements.. Faster editing/formating, extended conditional formating, better wizards, etc.. Be aware that some of the formating may not be compatible with 2003 versions... I actually lost much formating from 2007 during save. So if you share worksheets/books, make sure they are compatible before saving if someone will be using older versions...
