Publisher: business name or word in all font styles

I like to create logos and do business graphic design. I would really like
to have a tool in Publisher where I could type in the name of the company and
have Publisher creat a list in a pop-up or page with it in every font style
that is available. If this is already available, sorry - but please let me
know how to do it.

Good Grief! Tens of thousands exist! I personally only have about 1,500.

I think JohnsonTech meant a sampler of all available fonts on the machine.

There are macros available online to do this in Word - the fonts available
in Word are all the same as those available in Publisher... (Google.com is
your friend)

Yikes!! I have 966 fonts on my system. I don't want a Publisher document
that has all of them. My poor system would die a slow and painful death.

The closest I've seen is a Word macro that will create a .doc with the
alphabet in every font on your system. Mine is more than 90 pages long. And
it takes FOREVER for the darned thing to load. I use it to get an idea of
what a font looks like and then I can narrow down my selection in Publisher.

A simple fix to this would be if Pub would have a method to leave the =
Font drop down opened. Then you could just highlight your text and flip =
through different choices to see what the design looked like with diff =
fonts instead of open, drop, scroll, select, open, drop, select, =
close...etc.

But just seeing the name of the font in that font really doesn't help me
decide whether that's the font I want to use. Sometimes you need to see more
before you can tell that it's easy to read or conveys the proper message.

I think that was Rob's point. I think what he would like to see is highlight
the name and then scroll down the font list and the highlighted name would
change font styles as he scrolls.

Sounds like a good feature to have.

Xactly...instead of the dern font drop down closing there should be a =
way to keep it open!=20

I bet a registry guru could figure something out.
=3D=3D
I'd also like the same for the format brush...a way to keep it selected.

In doing that you would be moving in the direction of formatting panes
rather than toolbars - a more Mac thing.

Maybe if we can convince Microsoft to releast Publisher:Mac then we will see
it :-)

btw, double clicking on the Format Painter doesn't quite work the way I =

several different areas...couldn't get it to work at all really.

Or, if I understand the idea correctly, the PagePlus direction. IOW,
click on the font menu and be able to scroll through the various fonts,
seeing how each one looks on screen when applied without having the drop
down list disappear?

You are right this would probably be a simpler fix to my problem, but I would
also like to see all (I don't have as many fonts as most of you do) the
possibilities so I could compare them to each other. Maybe you could select
what fonts would be included in the display?

JohnsonTech <JohnsonTech@discussions.microsoft.com> was very recently
heard to utter:
> Where would I find these macros for Word?

A search using www.google.com for font list macro word
(http://www.google.com/search?q=word+font+list+macro) sends us to
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q209205/ as the top link, containing code to
give a sample of each available font in a new document.

Does Microsoft provide a reader/viewer for Publisher?
I am using Publisher 2003. I have created business cards for some of my sales representatives. I would like to email them a copy for them to view. I would also like for them to be able to print the cards from the viewer. Is there a viewer and if so, can one print from a viewer? Q: Referencing named cells in external worksheet ?
Using Excel 2002. I have a workbook with 12 worksheets (one for every month of the year), wherein a lot of the information is looked-up (using VLOOKUP) in simples arrays. I saw no point in implementing the arrays as a 13th worksheet, because I will have a yearly version of my monthly worksheets in one workbook (so one for 2003, 2004, etc). If I change the array(s), I want them to be reflected in all referencing cells. Problem: If my workbook containing my arrays (called "Global") is loaded, I have no problem and the references to it read as: (blabla) 'Global.xls'!Roster ...
