microsoft host controller driver update
My new (2 month old) HP Win7 'puter just did an automatic Microsoft update and keeps sending the pop-up that it wants me to reboot. However, the 'host controller update' is still running, and has been running for almost an hour already. According to the task manager it really is running - not hanging - but since this is the first time I'm seeing this I have to wonder how long should this be taking? -- slywlf Posted via http://www.win7heads.com "slywlf" <slywlf.44ys1p@no-mx.forums.Win7heads.com> wrote in message news:slywlf.44ys1p@...

How do I get pictures of certain equipment in Microsoft Visio?
I'm trying to use Visio to help illustrate our network. I know I've seen before where somebody had the exact equipment in his Visio project. How do I get those? Is there a main database with all the equipment, or do I need to go to each individual site and see if they have it? Thanks in advance. unless you are willing to pay for them at third party sites, the best bet is too check with the vendor. you might strart over at john marshall's site (www.mvps.org/visio) al "captmorg11" <captmorg11@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:336545C1-F340...

GP 7.5 Service Pack 6
Has anyone installed Service Pack 6 for GP 7.5? If you have, what was your experience? It appears that this should be installed before the Year- End Tax updates. Also, it appears that it might do an update to the 1099 forms in Payables. I installed last weekend and everything appears to be okay. I too read that it had updates for 1099 reporting which is why I installed it. I was not having issues with the other fixes listed on the SP6 read me file. >-----Original Message----- >Has anyone installed Service Pack 6 for GP 7.5? Data Connection Security in Excel 2007
I'm having an issue with a spreadsheet we've created in Excel 2007. The spreadsheet is configured to grab some data from a SQL server on our LAN. The problem is, you're hit with a security dialog that states "Security Warning: Data Connections have been disabled." When I add the location of the file to my Trusted Locations, the dialog goes away. Here's what we would like to do. We'd like to be able to sign the document with a certificate and set all of our client PCs to trust this certificate via GPO. The idea here is that any user can open a signed ...

The Local Security Authority cannot be contacted
I have enabled in Active Directory restricted login to computers for various users allowing them to only log on to their personal workstations. Doing so has made it so they can no longer access the Outlook Web Access. When I set the user to be able to log on to all computers then OWA works fine. Does anyone know how to enable restricted workstation logon and still allow the user to access OWA. I did allow the user logon rights to the mail server, but that didn't work. The error displayed to the user is: The Local Security Authority cannot be contacted. There are no additional errors...

There are three machines in our office with Outlook 98 or 2000 on them. The 98 and 2000 machines I use have Word set up as the email editor, and I can use "Save as" to save an email in Microsoft Word Document format, including the attachments. The other Outlook 2000 machine was set up to use Rich Text format as the email editor, and only had the choice of saving as .html, Rich text, or Text. There was no option to save as Microsoft Word Document format. I changed the default email editor to Microsoft Word. I went into Tools, options, Mail format, and selected the check box for Mic...

Last and Final Reminder
What is Happening? This message is to inform you that Microsoft will soon begin discontinuing newsgroups and transitioning users to Microsoft forums. Why? As you may know, newsgroups have existed for many years now; however, the traffic in the Microsoft newsgroups has been steadily decreasing for the past several years while customers and participants are increasingly finding solutions in the forums on Microsoft properties and third party sites. This move will unify the customer experience, centralize content, make it easier for active contributors to retain their influence, mitigate redunda...

advanced read-only security
I have a client with an obscure security need. They want all users to be able to search for a contact record and have them be able to see the preview information for each record that is returned in the resultset. However, they do not want them to be able to open the main record window to view the complete record information. I know of no way that this can be done through the application BUT I was wondering whether it would be possible to add additional security verification code when the preview is selected. thanks in advance Simon; you are correct that it can't be done out of th...

Integration Manager Service Packs not installing
I have installed Dynamics GP on a new PC running Vista, but cannot get Integration Manager to work. I was able to install the 9.0 version from the CD, but I cannot get SP1 or SP3 to install. At first I couldn't get it to recognize the .msi file that it wanted to access from the CD. I finally copied the CD's .msi file to the Desktop and got it past that step. Now I get what must be the latest generation of MS error messages, a mostly white window with the Title "Error", a red X icon with the words "Unexpected error; quitting". The only option is to click ...

Fonts from the value pack
Hi, I recently added the extra fonts from the value pack. They show up in my libraries and in Office. Shortlly after I installed them, they showed up in my OfficeX applications but now do not! I've tried reinstalling but get a message that they are already there. How can I get them back? Why did they show up and then disappear????Thanks in advance. Check Font Book (in Applications) and see if the fonts show up there. If not, try reinstalling the fonts and then repairing permissions.
