Page changes format

I print a large (26"x36" ) calendar in Publisher. I've had to change to a
different plotter. Everytime I go into the page set up to select the new
plotter, Publisher changes the format of my calendar to gibberish. I can
print other Publisher documents to this plotter and someone else can print
the calendar to the plotter, but I'm not able to figure out my problem. Can
anyone help? Thanks in advance.

I assume I have the newest driver because I can print another large document
(same size 26"x36"). It's just the calendar that won't print for me. And it's
not even a printing issue. As soon as I go into the document's page set up
and I choose the printer (it's a Designjet 5500 PS), once I okay it, I get a
message saying "changing document" and the whole document changes to a mess -
it defaults back to 2002 instead of 2006, and it adds a bunch of graphics and
messes up my original document. This happens as soon as I okay the page set
up change. I have to figure out a way to fix this and I'm totally stumped.
Thanks.

I can only assume Publisher cannot adjust the calendar wizard to the new size.
Your other user, are they using the same calendar file? You may have to open a
new publication, setup the printer, insert pages, copy/paste from the original
and manually adjust the objects.

It's not really the calendar wizard I'm using. It's a series of 12 tables
(one for each month) and I input the dates manually. It can be printed from
my computer as long as I'm not logged in as me. My I/T guy thinks it might be
something in my profile that's corrupting the document, because he can print
it from his computer and from my computer, as long as he logs in as himself.
But I can print other documents of the same large size (26x36) from
Publisher. I have never been able to print this calendar from the new plotter
- I had been using a different one, and never had any problem. I tried the
copy/paste into a new document, but that wouldn't work either. As soon as the
new printer gets selected (and even if I set the new printer as the default
and don't have to select it), the document goes haywire.

Right-click the printer in the Printer & Fax folder, properties, security tab,
are you allowed?

Yes. It lists "everyone" as being allowed to print. And I can print something
else there, just not this calendar. There are so many graphics in it that
maybe it confuses the printer, however someone else is able to print it
logged in as him. But a different I/T person couldn't print it when he tried
logging in. I'm not sure if it's a network problem with the printer and my
computer, or a document problem. As soon as I okay the new printer, my whole
document changes - it throws a yearly 2002 calendar and Publisher default
graphics holders in the middle of my document and changes all the formatting.
P.S. Thanks for all your responses on this.

Was the calendar originally created with the wizard? This is the only time I see
the message about changing the document. Have you setup the printer before you
create the calendar? Open a new publication, setup the printer and page, copy,
paste a page from your original document, does it print okay now? Are the
drivers for the printer current?

Have you checked your profile to see if it is corrupt?

Nothing we've done so far works. I can set up the page and choose the
printer, then copy and paste the calendar. When I look at "print preview", it
shows the document not fitting properly on the page size. I think that's
where the problem may be - somewhere in the paper size selection. I haven't
been able to select a size or format that works. The calendar wasn't created
with the wizard because I have to manually go in and change each date. Also,
because of the size, I have to work with the document in landscape mode, so I
have to turn my head sideways to view and work on it.

Vicki, This is a printer issue. You may do better reading HP support documents.

Did you read the support document I suggested in an earlier post?
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/288201/en-us

It has information about setting up your printer.

I have solved my problem! It was in the page set up and printer settings. I
had to select the 'post script custom" paper type and go from there. I still
don't know why the publication kept changing the way it did or why I had to
choose the settings I chose, but it works now and that's all I need. Thanks
very much for all your help.

Cannot Format Data in Cell
What could be happening to a cell when this happens? It's a file someone else created in Excel. I attempted to center the data in the cell and I can't do that - I can't even changed the font. I can't figure out what's happening. There is no protection at all on the cells or workbook. HELP! Hi Karen are you trying the centering & bolding on the same piece of text ... check that you've actually got the text selected by checking as to what appears in the formula bar - sometimes text isn't where it appears to be .... if that's not the problem - can yo...

SBS 2000, Exchange won't allow me to change primary account
We've got an SBS 2k setup and have several email addresses (abc.org, abc.com, abc.co.uk, etc.) for each client. SBS was set up using the abc.org setup with the others as secondary addresses for each user. All mail can be received on any email address so that side of things is working fine. However, we'd rather have the primary to be abc.com. Unfortunately, I can no longer seem to be able to select a different 'Primary' account. The option to change is there and the dialog boxes allow me to go through the procedure and appears to have succeeded at the end of the process but if ...

I want to create a multi-tiered report that's formatted like a treeview. I have items that belong to classes, and the classes can belong to other classes. Report printing on two pages versus one page
We are on GP 9.0. I have several users that have to swap between 2 printers frequently. When they use the Ricoh printer (a GP non-supported printer), the Job Status/Closing Report prints on 1 page to that printer. However, when they use the HP LaserJet 4300 (a GP compatible printer with the correct GP compatible drivers), the exact same report (same job number/same report) prints on 2 pages. I've tested it on myself and have noticed that even when I display the report the screen (not even printing it), it has this problem. If I have the Ricoh selected under File - Print Setup, t...

Calendar changes in Outlook 2003 not showing up following mailbox move
We have recently migrated some of our users from our native Exchange 2000 Server over to Exchange 2003. All clients are using Outlook 2003. Previously, the admin would keep the calendars of her two managers open within her own calendar pane, and new meeting agendas that she sent would appear immediately as "tenative" on the calendars of her two managers. However, after migrating her and her managers to the new Exchange 2003 server, her managers' calendar isn't being updated automatically nor immediately. (if at all). If she sets meeting agendas for users still on the olde...

Changing a text name within a cell based on file name

Trouble managing layout of multiple data containers on a page
When I enter new data on a page, it is always created in a new data container. These containers are all independent of one another, so they can overlap. I want to be able to insert new data onto a page and have OneNote automatically move down all the data below it (even if that data is in multiple containers). Also, is there a way to get OneNote to put everything on the page into a single container, so i don't have to deal with these problems? Thanks, Jonathan Jonathan wrote: > When I enter new data on a page, it is always created in a new data > container. Onl...

How do I enlarge my 8-1/2x11 page to 11x17
I have my page layout like I want it at 8 1/2 x 11. However I need the exact same thing on an 11x17 poster - which my printer will print on 11x17 paper, so I want to enlarge everything proportionately to fill a page 11x17. Do I have to do that manually with each item on the page, or is there a universal to enlarge the whole page at once? It won't fill the whole sheet. Displayed Columns Change

That is after hiding say the Resource Name column in the Gantt Chart view then saving and closing the file upon re-opening the Resource Name column is again visible in this same view. To my knowledge the user in question hasn’t changed anything other than hiding the columns. Sorting problem, sums change
I have a spreadsheet with 12 worksheets. It totals fine the way it is, but on several of the worksheets I need to sort them by State, when I do, the totals change. It calls data from one of the other worksheets cells which remains the same. Once I sort one of the worksheets the data pulling from the other worksheets now displays #DIV/0! and my totals are wrong at the bottom. Any suggestions. Just a thought.
