Page Orientation problems with Excel 2000 and XP
I have two employees. One using NT (Excel 2000) and another using XP (with
Excel XP). They are trying to print to a network printer (HP LaserJet 4050)
and their documents will not print in the right orientation.
If they want to print in landscape, it may show up in portrait, and if I
change the document defaults on the printer, it will work for one, but not
the other. Then the other employee will change it, and then they just keep
trading the problem back and forth.
I seem to remember hearing of this before, but have no idea how the hell to
fix it. And my boss is getting on my case about i...is there any way to recover the lost document?
I was editing a document and I closed the the application accidentally
without saving it. is there any way to recover it ?
If you were working on a new file that had not been saved, you're out of
luck. If you opened an existing file, and were working on it when you
exited, you can re-open it, but your changes will not be there.

Assuming this is Word 2000 or later, on the Paper tab of Page Setup, select
A4 as the paper size. On the Margins tab, under "Multiple pages," select "2
pages per sheet." If you create the A5 page only once, then you'll need to
put "1,1" in the Pages box in the Print dialog.

When using Publisher 2002, you need to go to File > Save As > File Type
change to Publisher 2000....can not remove or edit hyperlink
I can't find a way to remove or edit my hyperlink . The right clic shortcut
menu does not have those options appearing.

Once again my limited intellect has been overcome by the complexity of my

I am merging into Publisher 2003 from Excel 2003 three separate fields, all
identically formatted in Excel as currency, $ symbol, commas where
appropriate. Two of the three fields merge with appropriate formatting, e.g.
$1,500. The third field merges the figure, but not the formatting, e.g.

I work on our church newsletter, I have publisher 2000 v. 6, I get an error message "Publisher cannot open files from a different verion". I really need to open the file another member of my team sent me. Anyone have a "free" solution? Convertor or viewer I can copy from to complete my work.
The only "free" solution you have is to ask the originator to save that file
as a Pub 2000 file.

If you mean extra printed pages that are empty, it has to do with
your used range. LastCell location Ctrl+End
It is caused by inserting and deleting rows and/or columns,
and Excel not fixing it last cell indication. Another cause might
be introducing spaces or formulas into cells so that what looks
empty really isn't.
