Styles not applying correctly 05-13-10
I am using Office 2007Word and I have eleven Quick Style sets. ALL of them have the same style for formatting numbers. In nine of the Style sets the Numbers style applies correctly. In two of the sets when applying the Numbers style the Styles section of the ribbon indicates the style has been applied. However nothing changes, the formatting remains as it was before the style was applied. ALL Style sets have the style set up exactly the same way. ALL of them are Linked, the Style based on is set to no style, and the Style name and Style for following paragraph are both Numbe...

Applying GPOs based on Operating System Version (item-level targetting)
Hi, we have a Win2003 AD with one server acting as the PDC and a small bunch of GPOs. All clients are running WinXP SP3. The whole network / AD is well working. Our management now wants Windows 7, but only on their computers, we're getting a WinXP/Win7 mixed environment (thanks Boss!). Thus we have to split some GPOs (eg. Folder Redirection, etc.). We could clone each security group, one for XP users/computers and the other for Win7 and apply GPOs only to the correct group but that might not be the best solution. We would like to use the item-level targetting like in dri...

Apply multiple credits to a debit simultaneously
I have a request from the A/R dept for a feature that would allow multiple credits to be applied to a single debit in a single step. Currently, the users have to switch back and forth between two screens. We often have a payment and a return credit to be applied to a single debit, and they would like a faster and easier way to do it. Anyone know of a way to do this? Is there a product that handles it? Thanks, Reid We're using v7.5 Thanks, we will look into that... The only thing is, we were promised the world upon the initial presentation of this software, whcih is why ...

Apply cash receipts in a nonfunctional currency
When entering a non-functional currency cash receipt, our client would like to be able to apply a cash receipt to the invoices at the time of cash entry rather than post the receipt and then use the apply option. There are valid reasons as to why this could be an issue, but the user wanted us to post the suggestion. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. Color Defaults, Package Resets & Downloads
I'm not a big fan of Excel's default chart colors. I can change them one by one as needed & experiment w/ what looks best, but are there any downloads that would allow me to conveniently reset the colors in one fell swoop? Thanks. -- Jay Hi Jay, You can try my 'Colour Palette Tool' at http://www.edferrero.com/charting.aspx Still a work in progress I'm afraid, but it will let you change the colour palette in one operation by setting incremental colour changes. Applying SBS2003 R2 schema extension to Active Directory
I need to update my Active Directory on my SBS 2003 R2 server to with the 2003 R2 Active Directory schema to fulfill a prereq on a DFS setup I'm attempting with two 2008 Servers. I'm following this article for the procedure: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc773360%28WS.10%29.aspx I have verified my current schema version object version value is 30, so I know I need to update with R2 schema. The problem is that I only have the DVD installation disc for SBS 2003 R2, and I am not sure if the adprep version on the disc is the correct one. There are two in...

Access database on internet?
I have an Access database on a local server that I would like to remove and put on the internet so I can share it remotely between at least 2 people. We both may be updating and reading from this database. It is about 5 mb in size. What is the easiest way to share this database using the internet? * Is there a file storage location that we could both access like it was a disk drive that would have locking/sharing capability? * Could I make a drive directory on a machine I have be common to both of us over the internet? How would that be done? Would it be too slow for use as an Access ...

Putting internet link in Excel
I can copy/paste a link from IE6 into Excel, it turns blue and sure looks like a link, but I don't get the little hand when I run the cursor over it, and nothing happens when I double-click. When I click on Insert Hyperlink, I get a box that won't let me paste the link, it will only let me type it in. I hate typing long links. Is there a better way of putting a link in an Excel file? Why won't my AutoShape defaults apply to new shapes?
I am following the directions to set a new Autoshape with yellow fill, black line, 4" wide, and wrapped text. But when I create a new shape (the square on the drawing toolbar) the yellow fill and and black line apply but the width and text wrap do not. In other words my new shape is standard 1" x 1" with with no text wrap. AFAIK there's no way to set a new default size (except maybe with an AddIn) In 2007 the word wrap default can be set but not in earlier versions. -- john ATSIGN PPTAlchemy.co.uk Free PPT Hints, Tips and Tutorials http://www.ppta...
