Purchase Orders - Importing a CSV file to a PO list

Does anybody know of any RMS Add-On where you can Create a Purchase Order by
importing an item list from a CSV text file? We have a customer that gets an
excel spreadsheet from their supplier of all the items that they should be
receiving via UPS. The customer doesnt know before hand what they will be
receiving until they get the excel spreadsheet. Any Ideas?

I'm new to RMS, so forgive me if this info is slightly inaccurate, try it
out first.

If you create a blank P.O for adding item manually, on the screen where you
enter your items, right click, and import. Then you choose your CSV from
here. This must be in the correct order of:

Item Look up, Supplier Order number, Description, Qty to order, Price,
Extended, Tax rate.

I have used this to export to a CSV, and then re-import for an order where I
needed the same goods, but for 9 different stores.

Hope it helps.

Chris

Nothing happens when I right click in PO, on any screen. Have you checked?
Can you indeed do this?

Thanks Ken

Andy,
We have a utility that will do exactly that (Store OP). It is in QA now,
expect to release in a few days.

I have had success linking via html from web page to opening a specific contact record from Microsoft Outlook. I have done it like this: outlook://Big%20Contacts/Contacts/~Peter%20Crawford However, my very large contact database also has people with basically the same name, like John Smith. In the current "Address Card" view inside Microsoft Outlook, one of the John Smith's is always sorted first. If I enter outlook://Big%20Contacts/Contacts/~John%20Smith the first John Smith in the sort order is always opened. However, I want to specify one of the other John Smith's....

Conditional Formatting w/ a List/Icons
I am trying to allow someone to select "Green", "Yellow" or "Red" from a list and the cell to display a green/yellow/red icon appropriately. Or, if possible, the user could just select the icon (instead of selecting text). Is this possible? Use Data Validation for the list. Type in Red, Yellow, Green as the list. This give the user the list to select from. Use Conditional Formatting for the fill part. Set three conditions, If Cell Value-"Green" (select a green fill), etc.. -- If this helps, please remember to click yes. "...

lead import seams to be boring
Hi. Everytime I import leads from Excel I must manually map every column to the proper CRM fileds. Is there a way to do it once ? In the first row of excel file I wrote the name of the labels of the fields but it doesn't work. Any idea ? Sebastiano To automate it, you could use the Data Migration Framework, set up a recurring DTS task to move the leads from Excel to the CDF tables, and then a batch job to run the Migration tool at night (or whenever nobody is in the system). Harder to set up, but easier to maintain, until the spreadsheet changes. :-) -- Kevin Hill 3NF Consulting w...

Fulfilling Orders
Hi We would like to send a notification to our Sales Manager if a sales person incorrectly fulfills an order. Sales people have the appropriate permissions to make changes to the orders that they own. We would prefer for them not to be able to fulfill orders as this is done by an administrator. Because we can not restrict the sales people from fulfilling their orders we attempted to create a workflow rule which will send a notification to the sales manager. We have approximately 15 sales people and I would like to ask what the best way to do this would be. We do not want to create ...

XML File Converter for MS 2004

Importing .txt data into Excel
I am trying to import a .txt file with a 6 digit date into Excel. The date is formatted as a mmddyy and when changing this field to a date excel seems to translate any yy >= 30 as 1930 instead of 2030? Dave, That is the default break point for two digit year data entry. If you need 010135 to be Jan 1, 2035, then use an four digit year in the txt file creation. Otherwise, use a formula to fix the dates - say that you will have no dates in the 1900s: =IF(YEAR(A2)<2000,DATE(YEAR(A2)+100,MONTH(A2),DAY(A2)),A2) then copy down and paste special values over the original ...
