On POS (not RMS) Instructions for Changing Noninventory Item, Price, Cost and Volume

We drop ship noninventory items to customers, and when the price, cost, or
capacity of an item changes, we want to change it so it is reflected
accurately on invoices.

However, when we attempt to change the cost, price, and description, a
message pops up stating "The item description is already in use."  Of course
it's already in use, we just want to edit it.  Nothing else has changed,
same Item Number, same Department, same Category; we're just not permitted
to edit it.

For example, if the Item Description were "Coke," and we attempt to change
the Item Description to "Coca Cola" the error message is displayed.  When we
search in the Item list for strings of "Coke" the query yields zero.  So we
attempted to change the Item Number, just to test what was going on.
Putting in a bogus (nonexistent) UPC number displays a message stating "The
item number is already in use."; but, searching the Item list for the bogus
UPC number yields no results.

I can't create a copy, because they would have the same Item Number (UPC)
and POS doesn't permit duplicate Item Numbers.

Can anyone advise?  Is this just an unreported bug?  Am I the only one who
has encountered this?  Is anyone from Microsoft even monitoring this list?

Not searching for anything; just trying to edit a Noninventory item.

Here's another example.

Say we have Dog Treats that we drop ship from our supplier to a =
customer.  Our cost of dog treats increases.  We open the Dog Treat item =
and change the cost field to our new cost amount.  Nothing else is =
changed.  Then we click Save and Clost and a warning is displayed =
stating "The item description is already in use."  We haven't changed =
the Item Description, only our Cost.

This doesn't happen with every item.  We just can't figure out how to =
get around it without deleting and recreating the item.

Changed a form to have two tab control

Color Categories: This feature is useless when dealing with meetings that are set in series. Say I want to tag a meeting to remind me to schedule a sub meeting and only have it affect the one meeting in the series when changing color instead it changes all in series. Discount on $0 item
I have an item that has a $0.00 price. The purpose of this item is for information and tracking purposes, we also want it to apprear on the sales receipt. The problem is that when we apply a discount to the whole transaction this item, eg. $10 off the entire transaction, the item even though it is has a $0.00 price gets a $0.01 value. Is there a way around this so that the no discounts are appllied to this $0.00 item. To field is blank when a message is sent and saved to sent items
I have a user who recently was upgraded to Outlook 2003 for Outlook 2002. He has a third party app that sends out legal documents. What it does is compose the email and put the attachments in it and puts the messages in his draft folder. He reviews them and sends them out. Since going to Outlook 2003 the emails are in his Sent Items but the TO field is blank. When they were in his draft folder the TO field had the email address in it. if you bring up the email and click on resend it shows the email address in the TO field. I have just installed MS POS 2.0 on my machine which will serve as my register. I have MS Office Accounting 2007 installed on another computer. Hide Price on Work Orders
Hi, I was wondering if anyone had modified the invoice/workorder xml file to hide the prices when the work order is printed. The workorder will be used as a picking list for warehouse workers, so it is preferred that the price not be shown. Then after the work order is recalled, the sale will be tendered. An invoice with the pricing should print. How to modify principal without changing payment amount
I am having a hard time figuring out how to change the principal payment amount without changing the total payment amount. I am using Money 2005, and have all my loan details set up correctly (to my knowledge). I have recurring payments set up in my bills, and the total amount of the loan payment is $100. My "Sent Items" mail folder shows the "From" Column, instead of the "To" column. Obviously, the email is from me, so I am listed in the "From" column for every email. It makes it impossible to search for an email sent "TO' a specific individual. Others in my office correctly show the "To" column.
