winmail.dat attachment issue...

For soem reason, just recently, one of the dealer we regualry deal with via
email has reported he has been receiving a winmail.dat attachement with our
email messages.

We are using Outlook 2002 clients and Exchange 2000. He is using the Outlook
2000 client.

I did some research that said that this is a formatting file and that
Outlook creates this file everytime but if the client on the other end can
understand it, they will not get the winmail.dat attachment. Since he is
using Outlook, you would think this would not be an issue... We have not had
any one else complain of this...

Is there something that he can do at his end so that he does not receive
these? We do not want to change our formatting to plain text from HTML just
for him!!!

There must be some resolution to the issue!

Please help!

Thanks,

Brad

Set his contact to always use plain text and you won;t need to change your
formatting. Open his contact, double click on the email address and set it
to plain text.

He can not change anything on his end - his server may not be deciphering
the winmail.dat but that is beyond his control.

If you are sending to that client in rtf format then change the format to
plain text or html.

OneNote 2007 Attachments from Outlook
Is there any way to have the attachements of an email sent from Outlook to actually be attached to the notebook you file the note in once received? I have THOUSANDS of attachments to emails filed, and all the actual files are in the "Temp" subdirectory, and don't move when the page is moved from the "Unfiled Notes" section. how do I attach multiple Word documents?
I need to attach multiple Word documents into one large document. Many have different headers, so I can't just copy the text into one master document. Would appreciate any help on this. Before you Insert Text (2007: Insert > Object > Text from File), be sure each document you're including has a Section Break New Page both before and after it. After you've built your document, go through the headers/footers to be sure the page nos. are sequenced as you want them. Or use the "boilerplate" macro devised by MVP Graham Mayor. database query/names issue, causing excel to be sluggish
I have an issue with an excel worksheet I've created. WorkbookA has "Names" which are used to define drop-down menus in WorksheetA. These "Names" are defined to reference a WorksheetB (also in WorkbookA) which itself is populated by a database query, pulling from another Excel WorkbookB. The logic is that WorkbookB should not be touched by the User, only an Admin, and Workbook A is used by User. The Names in WorkbookA are to prevent incorrect entries. Now that I've set it up, WorkbookA is moving really sluggish, but if I delete all the Names it speeds up again....

Unreadable Attachments
Quick Question: About 10% of the people that I exchange emails with cannot open my attachments. They receive them as .dat files. If people have been able to open an attachment from me, they can always open the attachments, but someone who cannot read the first attachment I send to them will never be able to open an attachment from me.
