received mail goes directly to "deleted items" folder

When getting new mail, the mail goes directly to
the "Deleted Items" folder instead of the "Inbox". Any

My deleted emails don't stay in my Deleted Items folder.
If I read an email from my inbox then delete it that email doesn't appear in my "Deleted Items" folder. They seem to automatically purge. If I delete an email that has not been opened then that unread email does show up in my "Deleted Items" folder. I can do a right-click find on the "Deleted Items" folder and it appears to find emails but I'm not sure. I need to reset something so all my emails stay in the "Deleted Items" folder until I choose to purge them. The only thing I have done in the last couple of weeks is to compact m...

Purging Deleted Items After Fixed Period
If you set a global option to purge deleted items after say, 90 days, will this take effect on existing messages in the deleted items folder that are already older then the 90 day limit? Thanks We have created a mailbox management job under recipient policies to do just this ... it deletes items that have been deleted and remain in the users deleted items folder for 30 days. but you can also have a policy that keeps items for X days in DIRF and this is under system policies - limits tab i think.... Retrieval of Deleted Items After Being Deleted from the Deleted Items File
I deleted a number of important emails from the deleted items file in Outlook 2000. This may sound stupid, but I completely emptied the deleted items file instead of deleting them one by one. Pretty stupid, huh. Anyone. Can they be retrieved? Please help. Thanks. Sorry for sending this again but I seem to be computer illiterate and it has taken me some time to explain the whole situation. Thanks again. unless you use Exchange server with deleted retention enabled, you are most likely out of luck, but you can try something that might help.... http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/r...

Why put 'junk' mail in Junk E-mail, when it goes into 'Deleted Items' anyway?
OS 10.4.11 Ibook g4 Entourage 11.4.0 Hi, Does putting junk mail into the the junk email icon (pink envelope) first have any more effect on minimizing future junk mail than just deleting it (trash can) the first time around. I put junk into the 'Junk' envelope. Then, when I select/delete it from there, it goes into the 'Deleted Items', where it would have gone right away if I'd just clicked the trash can in the first place. Is there a reason for taking two steps in getting rid of junk mail, instead of onedeleting it? Thanks, Rafael Rafael Mont...

I would like to force deleted items to be purged from the Deleted Items folder after a set number (7) of days. To put it another way, I would like a message to stay in a users Deleted Items folder for only 7 days and have the system "empty" it automatically.
