FA Manager* Security Setting Is Weird
Hi, I found out the security setting in V10 is working werid... For example, there is a predefined Role called "FA Manager*". Its description states that this role can do everything for FA management. However, when I looks at the securtity tasks under this role, there is no task that actually say that this role can do "Retire Asset". The most possible task would be "TRX_FIN_FA01", but it does not contain any windows relating to retiring asset. But the user with the FA Manager* role assigned CAN retire the asset. I don't how this can ...

GP 10 Security Access
We have users set up with both the Purchasing Agent and Purchasing Manager roles. However, when they generate a PO from SOP and try to print the Purchase Orders Generation Register, they get "Not privileged to run this report". They currently have access to the following reports: POP PO Gen Error Log, POP PO Gen Site Mapping List, POP PO Gen Suggested PO, and POP Print Purchasing Documents Exception Report. I cannot find the Generation Register report anywhere. What do they need access to? Never mind! I just found it under the Sales reports. "Elaine" wrote: &...

Microsoft Query #8
I'm using Excel to query an oracle database. When I go to Microsoft Query to edit my query, I can't view my criteria or tables. I click on the view menu and am unable to select view "criteria" or "tables". Thus, all that shows up in the screen is the data in my query. This has happend to me before. Can anybody help me? I was able to answer my own question. It seems when query is complicated enough, you are unable to view the criteria, since you are now using SQL to query the data. It seems that if you click on the SQL button and scroll down, delete th...

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Integration with IMail Server
Hi, I just want to ask if CRM can work with IMail Server. I believe that some ISVs already made an integration with Lotus Notes. How about for Imail? Any suggestion? Thank you. To the best of my knowledge, the answer is No. The Exchange connector is designed for "Exchange", but there are always some things you can do. But it will not work like Exchange. Hello to all. I am a CRM newbie.... and I am looking for a little help... We installed Microsoft CRM v1.2 on a Windows SBS2003 server. We followed the Microsoft Business Solutions CROM Implementation Guide - SBS2003 section - during the installation. During the install, we created a new CRM website in IIS, and added a host header ("crm") and added "crm" to the DNS on the server. So far, so good. But, we have a problem whenever I choose Start->Programs->Microsoft CRM->Workflow Manager.... The Workflow Manager Logon window is displayed. I am prompted to enter th...

"Microsoft Outlook Stopped Working" error
Hi all, may I firstly apologise if I seem stupid in anything I say here; I have always used another PIM programme in the past with only the occasional dalliance with any version of Outlook. I am running Vista (Fully updated) Home Premium on a Tosh laptop (32 bit) 1.73 Gb 2GM Ram. I recently installed Outlook 2007 (I also have Office Home & Student 2007 (service desk edition?) which I have been using for a year or so.) The problem is that I keep getting this error when using Outlook. (for example 4 time in 15 mins). I have removed the programme (to ensure no trace o...

Microsoft Support?
According to Microsoft's own website (on the page entitiled Product Lifecycle Dates), they claimed to be supporting Visio 2000 until the end of June 2004. But Service Release 1 was unavailable 6 months earlier. Most of the other service packs required Service Release 1. Does Microsoft keep their word? Can anyone explain this? The first version of Visio released by Microsoft was Visio 2000 SR1, so this unfortunately, is the baseline they are using. So anyone with a Microsoft version of Visio is okay, but anyone with a copy of Visio 2000 from Visio Corp who did not get the SR1 upgrad...

How to make Microsoft CRM Read-Only fields
I am trying to design a form that includes some information that cannot be changed by users. But I know that Microsoft CRM cannot have Read-Only fields. Please help me with work around solution. If you have any solution, please email me at may.fan@metrixtechnologies.com Thank you very much! May Well you cannot make a field read only in a standard install. It may be possible to change the source code to a form but that would be unsupported. one option would be to have a picklist as a business required field. You could then attach event code to this field which could help validate the ot...

Any ideas to simply secure the mail inside my local domain ?
Hello, I have an Exchange 2003 server and a local domain with 200 users. I have a lot kind of mail client (outlook express, outlook, mac client) and i use SMTP/POP3 for the mail traffic. I have put a anti-spoofing software to clean the message that comes from outside my domain but i would like to secure the mail traffic inside my domain. OWA safest security practices?
Hi, I am wondering how best to secure OWA through the permissions of the various pages. I am already running it in form-based authentication, but I would like to block access to the additional OWA pages unless they're needed. For example, going to 'https://host/OMA' or 'https://host/exadmin' will pop-up a password box instead of re-directing to the form based page (we're not using Mobile Access). Can I deny all access to the OMA, exadmin, and Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync pages so that they won't prompt for a password? I don't want to break anyth...
