Mailbox Rights modification logging
I am trying to find a way to generate an event in the event logs of either Exchange or a Domain Controller that will identify when the "Mailbox Rights" for a user is modified. I have enabled logging for "account management" and on my test user have enabled auditing for everyone / everything. Yet when I modify the users mailbox rights it does not appear in any of the Event Logs. AFAIK, there is no way to audit changes to the mailbox rights. These are not Active Directory permissions, so AD auditing won't help you. -- Jim McBee Blog - http://mostlyexchange.blogspo...

Installed Outlook Update -- Can't log in now
Installed the 1/22 update to Outlook 2002. Now I get a "login information incorrect, yada yada" response from my Exchange Server everytime. Login information is good -- I can get in via Outlook Web Access. Tried the Knowledge Base suggestion to remove and reinstall TCP/IP, but that did not help. I'm dead in the water. Any ideas out there? Thanks ... ...

Need help with my script to clean Log data.
So here's what I have and could use some help. I'm a scripting newbie. I'm cleaning IPs out of IIS logs in powershell. I'm calculating the current date and appending it into the file name then running my little type command and piping the results to another file. I can do this using the type command in powershell like this: $date = Get-Date -format yyMMdd $filename = "u_ex$date.log" cd \ d: cd iis1-w3svc1 (Type '\\iisserver\w3svc1\$filename' (file://\\iisserver\w3svc1\$filename)) -notmatch "10.10.10.2" -notmatch "10.10.10.3"...

mailbox for logging?
Is is possible to create a user/mailbox that receives a copy of every incoming and outgoing mail so it can be used as a log of mail activity? Yes, the feature's called journaling. It can be enabled per-mailbox Store in Exchange Server 2003, so the journaling mailbox (to which you send a copy to) will need to be on another mailbox Store, one that resides on a volume with *plenty* of storage. -- Bharat Suneja MVP - Exchange www.zenprise.com NEW blog location: exchangepedia.com/blog ---------------------------------------------- "cw1972" <cw1972@gmail.com> wrote in mes...

Log in = ' logging out ' fix.
In case you get stuck with this problem: Normally I boot to menu on IDE and default XP boot menu option is to boot SATA1. A few months while testing some beta software, I had disconnected 2 SATA drives after doing a drive copy and had just the IDE hooked up. Yesterday I turned the test box on again and reconnected those drives. config = 1 IDE and 2 SATA's ( Seagate normally = SATA1 and Maxtor =SATA2) Default boot to SATA and can't see SATA1. I checked and the power SATA1 had not been reconnected so I did that. I then booted - menu defaults - starts XP - get to logon scre...

messages out log
Hi guys, Which log should I be looking into to check if a local message has been sent off the exchange 2003 server? I'm trying to find a way to prove that messages are sent off from my exchange server to another server. Plus if it's unknown user and I have SMTP IP for unknown users defined in SMTP properties, where would I be looking for a log that it's been sent off? Thanks!! Double transaction logging in Exchange 2003

allow user to disable annoying warning dialog on log charts
I know perfectly well that I can't plot negative values on a log chart. That doesn't mean that my data doesn't have negative numbers in it. For years I've been trying to outsmart Excel so that it effectively ignores negative data on log plots, but it seems to me that it should simply happen (like it does in most other mathematical tools). If the user isn't smart enough to know that he can't plot negative numbers on a log scale, well, warn him by default, if you must, but allow the skilled user to disable the message! It is incredibly annoying, and it reduces ...

Exchange logs #4
Hi I have 30gb of exchange logs dating back to early 2005 and growing daily. Backup Exec 9.1 is not purging the logs, have also successfully run a full NT Backup of the server but still no purging of logs. I think there is some corruption of the exchange database as Backup exec reports corruption in a few emails and so does not complete successfully Is my only option to take the store offline and run an isinteg? Any other ideas on why the logs will not purge? Thanks Andy Are you backing up the storage group as opposed to the database? Don't forget the logs are associated with the...

restoring Exchange 2k without transaction logs
Is it possible to restore an exchange mailbox store with only the priv1.edb, and no log files? From my understanding, this is possible using esutil /p (although some data may be lost). I'm having a difficult time mounting a private store that was restored from a ntbackup file. Am I screwed without the transaction log files? log memory usage of an exe into a file
Hello NG, do you know a programme that can log the memory usage by an executable into a file? Background: We have a programme that reloads an Access database every 5 minutes.
