deleting messages #7
Outlook automatically sends messages from several senders
that I would like to recieve to my deleted messages
folder. How do I stop this from happening? I cannot find
a list of those who are being deleted except to go
directly to deleted messages. Is there a way to trun off
these messages from being deleted automatically? The junk
mail wizard is no help and does not list these senders.
...Extraction of messages from Outlook 97 .pst archive file
No matter how strange or unbelievable it may seem to you, I have been using
Microsoft Office 97 since the day it was released and for 13 years until now.
It worked fine both on my old computer running Windows 95 OSR 2 as well as on
my new computer running Windows XP Professional SP3.
However, a few days ago, I formatted my hard disk, installed Windows XP
Professional SP3 from scratch and instead of the outdated Office 97, I
downloaded and installed Microsoft Office 2010 Beta which works fine.
The problem now is that I have an Outlook 97 archive Message.pst file...Contact Error Message
Often times when I am trying to save an email address I know to be accurate
to my Contacts, I get an alert that says "The contact information could not
be saved. Check the contact's information and try again." There seems to be
no rhyme or reason as to why this happens (no consistent type of address,
etc.). Can anyone suggest why and more importantly, tell me how to fix it.
Could you elaborate on the method being used to 'save' an email address ?

Why do I get message unavailable on my repy to a posted

I think the servers on the Microsoft CDO interface are having problems as
many people have said the same thing. If you are using Outlook Express or
another newsreader, the messages are all there, but according to CDO, most
are not there. So hopefully they will come back soon.

contains summin (e.g. the text 're-order') it displays a message box
that says do you want to blah blah blah with options yes or no , no

Does anyone know if it is safe to delete individual messages by going

Using the M:\ drive to do anything other than view the data is not
suggested. If there is another way to delete the specific items, I would
suggest you use it instead of the M:\ drive. This is why in Exchange 2003
we have removed the M:\ drive mapping.

I saw a bunch of people asking about this and, like others, found that
using "Define Views" wasn't being applied to all folders.
As near as I can tell if you go into "define views" and change a view
by name (not current view), Outlook still applies the changes to the
current view if the current view is set to the one you're trying to
modify. So to change the default "messages" view on all folders,
start Outlook with the "/cleanviews" option to clear things out.
Click your inbox, and change it's view to "Messages with Preview"

I've been a user of the microsoft community for several years and have

it appears to accept it. Then when I search for it after posting (even days
later) it does not appear to exist and I receive no replys to my post. What

I use OL 2003 and have some rules that worked with OL 2002 (XP) before.
They do this:
- Move incoming email to a folder, depending on content.
- Send an auto replay on this email from a template (.oft file).
The rules worked with OL 2002 and I guess they did with OL 2003 before.
Now Emails are moved to the correct folder, marked as answered, but none
of the senders receives a reply.
Of course I tried stuff like re-establishing the rule, preparing a new

Do you have a virus scanner installed which integrates itself with Outlook?
Uninstall this integration part of your virus scanner and try again; you'd
still be sufficiently protected by your on-access scanner part of the virus
scanner. For more details see;
