Inconsistent Software Installation Office 2003 results via GPO...

Having big issues trying to pushout Office 2003 to everybody. I thought for
sure I had it almost all figured out, but now I just tried to push it to a
test user, and it doesn't do one important thing it was supposed to do, and
did work before...

We are migrating from GroupWise to Exchange 2003, so we will have a little
bit of overlap. Because of that we have to set the mail profile to
prompting, and make sure to keep "Novell Default Settings" profile to be the
default profile, or else GroupWise won't work.
So I added this little registry key:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows
Messaging Subsystem\Profiles]
"DefaultProfile"="Novell Default Settings"

Plus I changed an entry in the .mst file to:

DefaultProfile=No

Which worked fine prviously...
Should I expect this Software Installation to be kind of flaky, sometimes
work fine, sometimes not???

This is driving me crazy!

TIA!!!!

Is it possible to remotely administer Outlook Address Books via reg key or group policy? PUBLISHER 2003 #66
Q: With PUBLISHER 2003, is there a file size limitation? Publisher 2000 hypothetically could handle 2GB. The file size of OLE objects does not count in this total. If you link or embed objects to your publication, that publication could theoretically have a file size that is greater than 2 GB. Newer versions of Publisher can handle larger sizes because of the use of compression. X.400 address in recipient policy on Exchange 2003
I have added a new Exchange 2003 server to my organization. I moved my recipient update services to this new server from the existing Exchange 2000 server. Since then, new accounts have not been stamped with an X.400 address. There is an X.400 address listed in the recipient policy, but it shows as unchecked. When I check it, I get a message about not being able to disable the primary X.400 address, but when I click Ok, and then reopen the recpient policy, the checkbox for the X.400 address is once again empty. Is an X.400 address necessary for an Exchange 200x organization in native mode? ...

Must Enter domain name on OWA 2003 Front End?
I noticed two things happen if you do *not* use your domain name when you log onto the OWA 2003 Front End server: 1. When you use the Logout button you get a prompt for your username and password again 2. When you try to open a link within an email message you are prompted for your username and password, and then you must use your domain\username or else the link will never open. Q. Is this because our Internet Mail domain name and our AD domain name are different? I thought the instructions from Microsoft said you could set a default domain, but the options were only for my email domain...

Exchange 2000 FE / Exchange 2003 BE
Is it possible to use an Exchange 2000 Server on the front end and an Exchange 2003 Server on the back end? MS Office "Save" dialog obscures the document you are saving??
I've just moved to Mac OSX (Panther) from OS9.2. I've been using MS Word for years. In Office X, Microsoft, again, appears to be using it's own "Save" dialog rather than the ones that are part of the Mac OS. (Microsoft has done this in all previous versions of Word and Excel, and that included the "Save," "Save As . . . ", and "Open . . . " dialogs. And, yes, I know I am dating myself by calling these "Dialog" boxes.) But, it appears that the Office X "Save" dialog obscures at least the upper half of the file you are sav...

Office 2011 Excel Beta 3+ cell right-click context menu won't work
I've been running the beta versions of Mac Office 2011. Up until Beta 3, I could right-click in an Excel cell and get the context menu as expected. Delete key is screwy in Outlook 2003
In Outlook 2003 pressing the delete key to delete a message deletes the message, and moves the selection bar up one item. It is lame. Is there some way to fix this? The delete key should just delete the item that is selected (items below will effectively move up to fill the deleted spot). The position of the selection bar shouldn't be changing when deleting (same as the way the cursor behaves in a word processor, pressing delete does not move the position of the cursor). tools, options, email options... change the action at the top of the screen. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outl...

Windows 2003: Dynamic Filename for Backup Name
Hi, I am looking to schedule a regular backup in Win 2003 using the default backup utility. I would like the name of the backup file to be dynamic, with a date and time stamp. Date is more important than time; If I can get a filename with the date, but without a timestamp, that is fine. For example, today's backup should be Feb_11_2010_6PM_File_Backup, though Feb_11_2010_File_backup will do. Next week's today be Feb_11_2010_5_59PM_File_Backup, etc..
