OL 2003 crashes when receiving email
This is a weird problem but here goes. When only a certain email gets
mailed to me outlook closes itself a few seconds later. The email gets
generated from a server and gets mailed to me and a group of people.
Only about half of the people have the problem. The only plug-in for
outlook I have is made by Symantec but everyone has it. I ran a repair
on outlook which fixed it for a few days but it still isnt fixing the

The News button is missing from my Go menu on the Category list on the
Commands list on the Toolbar Customization in Outlook 2003. Therefore I
cannot drag it onto the Advanced Toolbar and cannot get the newsreader up.
Does anyone know where to find the missing News command?
To get the News command back, go back to the Programs tab in Control Panel |

We are using Exchange 2003 and ADS. I have bunch of remote
users who are using RPC over HTTP for connecting to
Exchange and our GPO expires the password in every 30
days. Is their way we can make Outlook remind the users
for password change & also provide the option for changing
the password. I know the OWA does this but my users are
comfortable in OUtlook 2003 and they never logon to OWA.
There is no reminding of it from AD. Obviously, you can set meeting requests

...Exchange 2003 Enterprise mail store 4 times the size of mail box t
I've been looking at the size of my backups and my edb files, and I
noticed that they've hit the 80 Gig mark. So I did a little snooping in ESM
and notice the the sum total of all my users mail boxes is a little over 20
gigs. However the size of my mail store is 80gigs+.
There has got to be something wrong here, but I don't see any glaring
problems in the event logs. I expect that the store should be a little larger
for redundancy, I'd even understand a mail store that was double. But 4 times
the size seems really bad.

I have microsoft windows xp home, explorer 6 and outlook 2003.
I have noticed that I have the quite common problem of "send page" and "send

second time i do it, I get a pop up saying "micrsoft office outlook
operation failed". This is because there is a zombie outlook process
outlook.exe hanging around from the first time i did "send link". Until I
manually kill the zombie outlook process in task manager, send link and send
page do not work.

I have a user on OK2003 who sends a message with an email address in

Another problem that arises is the recipient is not able to view the

only between these users - it does not happen with any other users.

I recently had a serious problem with M 03. The majority of my accounts
lost all their transactions! These accounts still exist but they are empty.
The only thing out of the ordinary that took place recently is that I had
TaxCut import tax info from M 03. In theory, this should have left my M 03
data file unchanged but anything is possible.
I am in the process of recreating these transactions from backups but I am
afraid of this happening again. Does anyone have any ideas about what
caused this mishap? (Neither the Salvage Tool nor Super Salvage Utility

We are about to do a SAN upgrade which means we will be moving the Exchange
databases from one array to another - essentially a hard disk upgrade. Does
anyone have any recommendations as to how we do this?
We have 3 storage groups at the moment.
I figure the options are:
- Use the move database capability in Exchange 2003
- Stop all exchange services, copy databases across, reassign the drive
letter and away it goes? (it there a catch to that??)
- Any others?
