OL2000 disabling inplace editing for contact lists and task lists, etc #3
hi Can someone please help me with this one: I manage a small SBS2000 instalation (20 users) running outlook 2000 with exchange 2000. Outlook 2000 has the annoying feature that whenever you click on an item in a task list or contact list and start typing, you modify the contens of the item (without noticing). This happens often in the company and has recently resulted in inadvertedly destructing critical information contained in public contacts and tasks folders. Reverting to Custom Outlook 2003 Contact Form
Somehow I have managed to create a Custom Form and when I open a Contact I get a message that Form cannot be read and will be opened in Outlook. Importing fixed-width data
Dear all, I have a large number of huge text-files I want to import in Excel. Th data are in fixed-width format (each value is 5 characters long), bu there's no space or separator between them. That seems to be a proble for excel. The only way possible seems to be to 'draw' the column manually in the import wizard. I'd rather do it in an automatic way because of the large amount of data. Is there a simple solution to this problem? (I've got little excel an programming background.) Thanks a lot for any responses!! -- Message posted from http://www.ExcelForum.com Juliet...

Time Stamping
I like to always know when a particular entry was made. So if I have a new contact, I can have some automatic process whereby when I hit "SAVE" it will put a date somewhere . Contacts Permissions Problem
Hi- I am running OL2003 on WinXP & 2k with Exchange 2k. I have a large public folder of contacts. I can edit all of them. I created a new user, gave her owner permissions on the folder, but she cannot edit many of the contacts. When she opens them, they show as <read only>. Today I was researching this and I found something interesting - some of the records show Outlook Version 10, and others show Outlook Version 11. It turns out that the recs that are version 10 can be edited by the new user, but those that are version 11 can only be opened as read only. I tried to change the ve...

OL2000 Contacts problem
I use Outlook 2000 with Windows XP. More recently, an odd problem has developed. number of fields exceeds 256 when importing from a dbf file
Hey evryone, I'm having a small problem with importing some old data from a FileMaker Pro database. According to what I found out in the groups archive the best bet is to convert it to a dbf file and then import it. However, I the number of fields in the dbf file exceeds 256, so the import wizard truncates the import at field number 256. I would now want to spread the data over two sheets. However, in the process of converting it to a dbf, quite a few of the field names get truncated and therefore have the same name, so I can't use SQL to retrieve them. My question is: what i...
