Microsoft Word issue

My wife is a public HS teacher. She writes classroom material and exams
in Word (Office 2003) and we have encountered a unique problem.

She creates a word document of text with photos in the document (Insert
/ picture / from file)(the file is a .JPG file on her computer).

Then she goes to print it on an HP Photosmart printer on my computer,
over the network.

The document prints .... but the picture is blank. Just white space
where it should be, no picture.

We found a workaround: Print to Adobe Acrobat PDF file (her computer
has full version Acrobat installed). The photo is present, then print
the page from Acrobat, and it prints properly, photo and all.

But, frankly, WTF ????

Why won't the photo print directly from word?

[BTW, Tools / Options / Print / Drawing Objects is checked]

Did you bother to read the original post? It specifically mentioned
that "print drawing objects" was checked.

You may have to proactively choose to include images either in your printing
profile set-up, or selectable printing options again accessed through your
printer set-up.

Can you be more specific? I am not aware of anything which I could be
doing that I am not doing.

I don't have an HP printer, but with the Canon I use, when you click the
print command in an application, the box that appears has a clickable
feature that gets you to the printer program where you can make various
adjustments, do maintenance, and so forth. The option to exclude/include
comped on images, if it exists (and it may not), would be there.

You may also be able to access it from the Start Menu folder (not an option
for me).

Word always asks to save changes to the template
For my work we have made templates for different letters we have to send. Our application (VB6) calls those templates when we want to send a letter. Using the code we follow a few steps : - open word - open a new document using our template - save the document (.doc) on a server - sometimes print the document - sometimes immediately close the document (when we don't want users to modify the document afterwards) When they closed the document the users always get 2 questions : - save changes to template for the letter - save changes to normal.dot I already found a solution to avoid the q...
