Re: Question on OVER Clause Useage
I'm using the OVER Clause with row_number in a view that I have created. row_number() OVER (ORDER by T.Description) AS 'RN' What I'm trying to do is get my RN column to display, in sequence the numbers 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 for each row that is selected. Regardless of what column I put into the ORDER by the number sequence is anything from 3007-3008-3009 to 75-76-77-78. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Cheers -Ray I am not sure I understand the problem, but if you do not care about order by any particular column you can write: ROW_NUMBER() OVER(ORDER...

IMPORTING Needs Help
I have been using Outlook 2003 for about a week now. I am really not happy with it in that it will not import messages correctly. I know you can import from Outlook Express 6 one of 2 ways... 1) Open Outlook Express and export to Outlook. 2) Open Outlook and import from Outlook Express. When doing #1, it preserves message dates, but it loses all the mail headers. I like to know what e-mail program was used when a message was received or sent. Also, if I want to reply to an old message, it cannot pick up the e-mail address of the sender, but rather uses the sender's name. I hav...

[REPOST] No date fields appear when exporting/importing CSV file?
Hello All, I need to convert some legacy emails from another system to a format that can be read by Outlook. The preferred format is CSV text, which we plan to import into Outlook. I noticed when playing with the export/import that the following seem to be the standard fields that get exported into an Outlook generated CSV file: "Subject", "Body (text)", "From: (Name)", "From: (Address)", "From: (Type)", "To:(Name)", "To: (Address)", "To: (Type)", "CC: (Name)", "CC: (Address)", "C...

Import One Page Into Anoter Document
I found this question posted, but there were no answers. Mary Sauer evidently gave the answer, but I can't find the post. So sorry. I would like to create single pages, then compile the pages of choice into one document. I'm creating tutorials, and it is just easier to create one page at a time and decide on page order later. Thank you for your anticipated help. Since I am brand new here, and don't want to miss the answer, is it possible for me to receive an email? Thanks! lsgal mary wrote: > I found this question posted, but there were no answers. Mary Sauer evidently ...

Importing text into a Text Box
C1:C7 Sheets("Page") contain details of the particular job. I am trying to write a macro to add a Text box on another sheet "Schedule" to include these details. Recording a macro of the first few operations, initially typing the text, I have then attempted to use the variable 'JobDetail' (defined elsewhere and used throughout the workbook) to replace the text in the recorded macro but it does not appear in the text box when the macro is run. Any suggestions for bringing into the text box C1, C2, C3 etc fro the other sheet? Thanks in anticipation. ...

Importing Global contacts to Distribution list.
Hello, I am trying to determine the best way to import a list of email adress's ranging from 20-2000 into an outgoing email Distribution list on our Exchange 2003 Server. I would prefer to have the junior admins not type these in by hand and to have it read from an excel/text file. These list randomly change as it is sent out to local government personnel and depends on what type of notifications they would like. I have thought of trying to use the outlook import function to do this, but I need the lists to end up in Exchange so the correct department officials can use the lists w...

importing a large word document into Publisher XP
I am having a horrible time trying to figure out how to import a 24 page word document into a booklet format. I have been trying for two days to no avail. Please help me, this really shouldn't be this difficult! On your booklet's first page arrange the margins, create a text box to fit within your margin, with the text box selected, right-click, click change text, text file, browse to your Word file. Publisher will automatically create text boxes and pages. -- Mary Sauer MSFT MVP http://office.microsoft.com/ http://msauer.mvps.org/ news://msnews.microsoft.com "theworkin...
