Can't open Money 2003 Deluxe & Business
Hi. This problem just started yesterday, prior to that it worked fine. I double clicked the MS Money icon on my desktop and the opening screen appeared, as it should. When I hit the "Sign In" or "Next>" button it started its thing. At the bottom it said "Signing in..." and the little dots started animating to let me know it was doing something. The problem is that it just kept animating and I never got in. There was no error messages. After a few minuites of waiting it just said "Microsoft Money (Not Responding)" in the title bar. I tried to restor the back up and got the same thing. I uninstalled and reinstalled to the default directory and then to a different directory, but still no good. Can anyone help? Thanks.

No one will probably see this based on the massive amount of replies I got, but I did find the answer in case anyone cares. I noticed that when I closed Money, the .lrd file did not go away. The .lrd file is the lock file that keep you from opening the file a second time. Therefore, I figured the program wasn't opening my file because it thought it was already open. I tried to delete the ,.lrd file, but it couldn't because it thought I was using it. So, a simple reboot and then I was able to delete the .lrd file and voila all was good again in MS Money land. >-----Original Message----- >Hi. Money 2008 seems to stick at "Updating your accounts", msmoney.exe then takes an excessively large amount of CPU. Issues noted for Money 2004 for the Pocket PC.... 1. Due to sensitivity of financial data, it was very very undesirable to put Money in the background in stead of closing it. I have set a password for Money. It prompted me for password. But I have to close it implictly (start - > settings -> memory.....) 2. When enabled in Today, it virtually ignore my password. It is a very serious design flaw.... From now on, I can't borrow my PPC to my friends for the games installed. The person can enable Money in Today and see my Financial Data without the password... impossible to access the "news" from outlook 2003
I wanted to set-up my newsgroups access In outlook 2003. I followed the documented procedure (toolbar/standard/customize) from the help menu to add the "News" selection to the "GO" menu. It worked but when I exited Outlook and got back later the "news" menu disappeared. I tried to reinstate it following the same installation procedure but the News option is no more available in the "toolbar/customize list". Looks like a bug. Has anybody faced the same issue ? When I end what I am doing in Money 2004 and press the X (close) button in the top right corner, it is not completing the backup of the file it automatically makes. I have nearly determined the problem to be StuffIt Deluxe 9.0, and more correctly the new feature built into it, ZipFolders. They do have an option to disable ZipFolders in certain programs. I would like to know what is the name of the program that creates backups in MS Money 2004. If I am able to disable ZipFolders while this program is running, this should solve my problem. GUID/Outlook format link giving error "Unable to open the seleted folder or item"
Hi, I have created custom forms in multiple public Outlook folders and when I send the GUID type link to the user, they receive an error: "Unable to open the seleted folder or item". The same happens if I send the Outlook type link. However, if I ask the user to go to the folder and find the appropriate posting, then the form opens and after that the link works, too. Is this due to some Exchange server setting? My clients are not the type that tolerate opening the form the long way, they want a one click solution. Please help, this is driving my team crazy. The error message I am receiving is: Microsoft Money Error Reporting has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. I have created a spreadsheet to help with a university engineering assignment and I have added a worksheet that is basically an automatically generated report of all the calculations. I have set the Print Area up in such a way so that the results are printed out in well defined pages (e.g. page 1: title page, page 2: summary of input variables, page 3: summary of calculation results etc). We're on Exchange 2003 and have started rolling out Outlook 2003 in place of Outlook 2000. In Outlook 2003 by default all folders come up grouped by day and with solid lines between the messages. Everyone hates these "features" and has made a point of telling me so. Yes, each individual folder can be changed back through the user interface but that's a non-solution for 100 users that have an average of 25 folders each plus the 50 or so public folders as well. Is there any way to change this default behavior in Outlook 2003 so that all folders come up without the solid lines...

Outlook 2003 won't open in ie but outlook express does
I just upgraded my harddrive form 120 gb to 400 gb using segates disk utility and when all was done eveything except system restore and the read email link from ie 7 worked fine. OL express would open and run ok but OL 2003 would not, no error just won't open. Doesnt' work in firefox either. Have uninstalled and reinstalled Office, no luck. Have unistalled ie7, no go either. Got system restore to work again by diabling the service from the managment console then starting it from the system restore tab in my computers/proporties. There seems to be some connection from ie to outlook...

Fix for dead Money 2002
Ok, my Money 2002 died on Sat night as well so I called Microsoft and here's the deal: Microsoft put out an update to Money 2004 that unfortunately was sucked into 2002 also and corrupts it somehow so that it won't open anymore. The fix for me was very easy. We just un-installed and re-installed (I know some of you have tried this already, bear with me...), but on the reinstall we had to choose "Custom Installation" and then change the name of the folder where the program is installed. We changed it so the program installs in a subfolder called "2002"...

Ok, my Money 2002 died on Sat night as well so I called Microsoft and here's the deal: Microsoft put out an update to Money 2004 that unfortunately was sucked into 2002 also and corrupts it somehow so that it won't open anymore. The fix for me was very easy. We just un-installed and re-installed (I know some of you have tried this already, bear with me...), but on the reinstall we had to choose "Custom Installation" and then change the name of the folder where the program is installed. We changed it so the program installs in a subfolder called "2002"...
