Business Portal 2.0 to 5.0/5.1 Test/Production Upgrade Scenario
I'm trying to plan an upgrade for a client from Business Portal 2.0 to Business Portal 5.0/5.1. They haven't decided if the new platform will be 32 or 64 bit yet, but the scenario should be very similar. I'm planning on running the setup on a new server for a testing period and then that server will become the new production server when we do the final cut-over. My primary question is that once I have Business Portal installed on the new server for testing, what steps must I take once I do the cut-over to production. I was planning on just getting the GP 2010 upg...

MS Outllook 2003 with Business Contact Manager Backup/Restores
Need some help with what the procedure is to backup Business Contact Manager data from a single user license system and restore it on another backup system I have. This needs to include the opportunities and other data linkages made on the system being backed up. Tried doing an export / import but based on some info I saw on the MS Office Web site this won't work! Would appreciate any help! There is a backup/restore function for the BCM database on the file menu. -- Guy Lapierre www.forefrontbusinesssolutions.com "WHY" <Hnyda@mindspring.com> wrote in message n...

Default Opportunity views are ignoring closed state?
Hello, There are a number of 'system views' for opportunites like "Opportunities Closing Next Month" These views all seem to include already CLOSED opportunities, which does not make any sense! And, as system views, it does not appear I can 'fix' the filtering criteria. I can create new views that do what is expected, but this does not seem like valid behavior! Can I hide the system views? Am I doing something wrong? -- Len Ott Socket Communications ...

Workflow
As a services organization, we'd like to create a case record automatically when an opportunity record is closed as "won". Has anyone figured out a way to create a record off of a "status change" of another record? -- Deb It would involve the CRM Workflow Manager and the CRM SDK. In the workflow manager, you create a rule, call it "Opportunity Won", for the object "Opportunity", and the event is "Change Status". In that rule, you check for opportunity status set to Won and post a URL. It will look something like: When opportunity st...

Activities for an Opportunity Order
Is there any way to have activities for an Order in an Opportunity rollup and appear in the Activities/History for the Opportunity? Reports in Money Small Business 2004
Since "upgrading" from Money SB 2002 to SB 2004, when I run a Sales Analysis Report (ie, "All Projects" or any project for that matter) . . . NONE of the sales/invoices are included (except as $zero) for the dates BEFORE I "upgraded" the software. The paid (or unpaid) invoice (s) for all of the projects are still there, showing the correct amount of money, they are not, however included in ANY type of report I try to run. In other words, I can ONLY get totals within a report SINCE I "upgraded" (since 6/1/04). IF I were to run any sales reports...

Free/Busy
Hi, I would like to know if there is a way to suppress or prevent Free/Busy information from showing. I've gone through the procedure below, but all that does is display free/busy as "blank". I am wondering if there is a way to configure Outlook 2003 (SP2) Or Exchange 2000/2003 to prevent the display of any Free/Busy information for specified users. Specifically, I would like the free/busy to show the "no information" cross-hatches. Publish Free/Busy for "x" number of months: - Launch the Outlook - Click on the [Tools] pulldown menu - Select [Options]...

Replicate free and busy
I am using the InterOrg Replication utility to replicate public folders and Free and Busy information. The public folders portion is working and one direction of the FB is working. My Exch5.5 users can view the FB schedules of my Exch2003 users. However, my Exch2003 users cannot view the Exch5.5 users schedules. I get "Unable to get collector from folder Ex:/o=organization /ou=site' on server [Exch2003]. I have created mail-enabled contacts on Exch2003 for some of my Exch5.5 users. SQL Server Sort Order for Business Portal
Hi all, Our existing SQL Server database for GP uses a Binary sort order. We are trying to install Business Portal (using Windows Share Point Services) but the the install instructions says it can only be installed on SQL Server with sort order 52 (Dictionary Order, Case Insensitive). If we create a new SQL Server instance using sort order 52 for Business Portal, are there any issues we may run into in the future regarding data exchange with GP? Thank you. Printing business cards #11
I've created my business cards in Pub. 2002 and print preview shows everything perfectly. However, when I print each row seems to print a little too hgih into the next until finally the last row of cards has a .25 inch gap at the bottom. Seemed to me it might be a feed problem with my printer, but I printed a test page and it was not skewed. I even tried adjusting ( in Pg Setup) the vertical gap between the rows and that moves the printing too much. Hope my rambles make sense. I've been messing w/ this off and on for 3 days now. -- Thank you, Christine It does sound like ...

Business Contact Manager in 2003 missing
My trial version contained BCM but the Pro version of 2003 seems to be missing this great app. Is it supposed to be there? Apply account's pricelist to opportunity

However, when I create an opportunity from the Opportunity tab is Sales, the price list is not copied? Delivery Status Notification (Delay) on mail from business domain to AOL
I don't believe this is the right place to post this, but I'm not sure where to go. When we send business correspondence to AOL, we get a Delivery Status Notification (Delay) message for all messages. I'm fairly certain that it's not related to the AOL spam filters as I tested it on an account that had the spam filters turned off and still got the Delivery Status notification message. Has anyone ever seen this problem before? What is the solution? Some server between you and the recipient is delaying the messages - it might be AOL, it might be some other server. You c...

Outlook 2003 w/ Business Contact Manager question
