Disable macro security for selected workbook
I am using Excel 2003. I know how to lower the macro security warning from Tools, Option, etc. However, I do not want to turn this feature off for every workbook. I only want to turn it off for a specific workbook when ever the end user opens it. Can this be done? Maybe with VBA? How? TIA. Jan If you think about it, being able to lower macro security from a macro may defeat the object. You could sign the project and that could then be added to the trusted list or you could install it as an add-in (*.xla). Neither way will fire the warning -- HTH Nick Hodge Microsoft MVP - Ex...

Money crashes when updating stock prices
Every now and then, when Money tries to update stock prices online, it just "hangs" and takes forever. If I click "Cancel", then Money would go "not responding", such that I have to shut it down. It's happening more and more often now, almost on a daily basis. I don't know if this has anything to do with Micrsoft's server supplying these stock price quotes. I am using Money 2002 Deluxe on a Windows 98 system. Is it really crashing or are you killing it??? Try waiting a REALLY OBSCENELY LONG time like a couple of hours. Money seems to have incredibly...

Update
What is Happening? This message is to inform you that Microsoft will soon begin discontinuing newsgroups and transitioning users to Microsoft forums. Why? As you may know, newsgroups have existed for many years now; however, the traffic in the Microsoft newsgroups has been steadily decreasing for the past several years while customers and participants are increasingly finding solutions in the forums on Microsoft properties and third party sites. This move will unify the customer experience, centralize content, make it easier for active contributors to retain their influence, mitiga...

During IM of new item Default purchasing U of M is not getting integrated in Item Purchasing Option Maintainance window, as far as I know it is not possible also, then is there any way to integrate it through table import or any other way from my text file, since I have nearly 200 items to import together. Update field in record after update on checkbox
I have a master form with information that relates to a certain asset which is obtained from a query. What I've been trying to do is have a checkbox on the form that updates a specific record [ISPOOL] in the [MAIN] table if I select the check box to identify the vehicle as a "POOL VEHICLE". What is the easiest way to do this? The query that I'm obtaining the data from is read only. Make the data type in the table to yes/no then make the checkbox data source that field name and it will update the data table field (providing it is of the yes/no data type. See signature if ...

BEFORE UPDATE EVENT
Hi, I am very fascinated with the control one can have over what goes in by the use of the BEFORE UPDATE EVENT of a control on a form or the form itself. Unfortunately, I do not have the proper knowledge of how to use the procedure so that I do not get error messages when I am entering data. Can anyone recommend a good article I can read to get my feet wet? -- Glint On Oct 30, 11:34 am, Glint <Gl...@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: > Hi, > I am very fascinated with the control one can have over what goes in by the > use of the BEFORE UPDATE EVENT of a control on a form or...

Updating CTreeCtrl from other view ?
I have a CTreeCtrl and a 3D render view. With the mouse, I create elements picking in the 3D render view. This elements must be showed in the CTreeCtrl. What is the process to do it? I think 3D render view must send a message to the CTreeCtrl. CTreeCtrl captures it and update itself. But what kind of message and how? e-mail security settings via custom form not being applied
I have two domains and two networks that are trusted and for all intents and purposes allow for seemless traffic flow. I can logon to domain 1 when on domain 2's network/subnet and vica-versa, etc. The one caveat presently being experienced is the ability to send email from a problem ticket tracking system when connected to domain 2, logged onto domain 2, but using an exchange account on domain 1. I get prompted to authenticate to access the mailbox which is expected and can send messages, but the Outlook Security Settings public form settings are not being applied - I get the tw...

Updates to Office for Mac.
Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Ok. I'm really getting frustrated with the updates to Office. I've tried updating several times now with the same result. The install seems to go correctly but when I start either Word or PowerPoint it brings up The Customer Experience Improvement Page. Whether I say YES or NO doesn't make a difference. If I say NO, it brings up the check for updates screen. If I close that dialog box it goes away but the app never starts. Entourage seems OK but not Word or PowerPoint. I got so pissed off yesterday that I del...

Looking for a cell that contains specific value
So I have a tab that contains the following data:Project Order1 Order2 Order3 etcABC 123 456 789DEF 654 951 159Basically, I want to do a search (similar to ctrl - H) on the tab and look for Order 159. The main information I want is the Project name. I've got thousands of line, and hundred of Orders to look up; orders go all the way to column IV on a few of them. So I need either a formula (similar to vlookup or search) or a macro that can look up a cell, search the other tab, and return either a cell location or, better yet, the project. Is this ...
