Bar code on bulk mail labels

The POSTNET bar code that Microsoft Word generates no longer qualifies
for USPS bulk mailing discounts.
Further, the bar code appears above the address and the USPS now wants
it below.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi Steve,

I find it unusual that there has not been a big fuss over the bar code no
longer qualifying for bulk mailing discounts. Do you have a link or
something that points to this information?

It's not a big deal to put the bar code at the bottom of the address instead
of the top. Just add it last (put in a carriage return first) as you build
the address in the Data Merge Manager.

Yeah - according to MS, USPS changes their specs too frequently for Office
to keep up-to-date, so they've just stopped trying... In fact, bar codes
have been completely yanked from 2007. I suspect 2008 will not include it
either. Have a look here:

My question to the OP would be: "Since they aren't worth the ink it takes to
print them, why bother in the first place?" If you don't use them it doesn't
matter where they would get put if you did... And they could cause the mail
to get misdirected.

Thanks, Jim. That fixes the easy part, the position. But the code
itself is no longer good according to Microsoft. The following is a
quote from Microsoft: "The POSTNET bar code that Microsoft Word
generates no longer qualifies for USPS bulk mailing discounts."

Well that is interesting news. I, too, am curious as to how Office 2008
will handle these bar codes. It would seem to be something that could and
ought to be done.

Mail will not Send/Receive automatically
I have outlook set up to send/receive every minute but it suddenly stopped doing so. Anyone have ideas why? Robin Several. For starters, a one minute polling interval is just nuts. It is difficult to determine why automatic polling is failing when you do not post your mail account type, connection type and polling settings. If automatic polling once worked and now fails, you also need to examine what changes were made to your setup before automatic polling stopped working. In general, here are the reasons automatic polling might fail in Outlook: 1. You have created an unrealistic po...

Using Company Wide Mail Templates.
Hi, I do not know if i am at the right spot here, or if it is evne possible, but i got the following question. My boss would like me to make sure that every outgoing mail has the same looks. The next question is however, to put the head of our website, also above our mail. This means that every user that sends a mail, the mail will have a nice header, underneath that header, the mail is typed, and then its ended with the si...
