Word keeps crashing after opening a saved doc

Version: 2004
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I use Remote Desktop to connect to my office computer and transfer documents over. The documents are long (50-200 pages) with jpegs and tables and charts and created on a PC. When I try to open them on my Mac (both iMac and Macbook) they crash within a minute of opening. I've tried sending them through email, saving them with a different name and updating everything on my computer. I don't know what else to do. This is the crash report. I don't know: That dump looks like you are running PowerPC code in Rosetta.
That WOULD crash on an Intel machine.

How did you get Office onto that machine?

If I were you, I would Remove and Replace.

Do you have your Office CD and product key handy? Don't proceed until you
have...

1) Quit all Microsoft applications.

Run the Remove Office utility. You must run Remove Office, or you'll make
the problem worse! And Office must be installed WHEN you run it, otherwise
Remove Office will do nothing because it can't find what it's looking for.

2) Run Remove Office TWICE to make sure it finds everything. Remove Office
is in a folder on your CD, and is also in a folder in your Office 2004
Application folder.

3) Track down all instances of Normal template on your computer, and drag
them to your desktop. The file is called simply "Normal" and has no
extension.

4) If the following files exist, Remove or rename them:

 ~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Word Settings (10)

 ~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Word Settings (11)

 ~/Library/Preferences/com.Microsoft.Word.plist

5) Then Repair Permissions with Disk Utility.

6) Then re-install, and reapply the updates, in the correct order.

7) Repair permissions again, and it should work.

Hope this helps
