Upgrading to GP 10

I'm upgrading to version GP 10 in a test enviroment from 9.310. I used the
feature pack 1 dvd and have applied the lastest hotfix. The install went fine
but after the install I launched the utilities and when it is Updating system
tables it stops with the error "Error registering table[Not Found]. On the
window is says "Updating table Custom Reminders Setup. I looked up table and
checked to make sure it is there and it does have data in it. Is there any
way to fine out what table it is having problems with and a clearer error
message? Thanks.

Have you tried enabling a DEXSQL.LOG? This usually will tell you what the
problem is and/or the SQL statement causing the issue.

Is enabling this the same as in version 9 by changing the values in the
dex.ini. I do not see a dex.ini in my GP folder. Thanks.

Rick,

Enabling it is the same, but finding it is not. :-) The Dex.ini is now in
the Data folder, which is in the GP folder.

Thanks I enabled the dexsql.log but what exactly am I looking for in. There
is nothing at the end about an error but looking through the file I foudn a
few things that look out of place:

OK,

A few things:

1. Did you make sure DYNSA is the owner of your DYNAMICS and company
databases PRIOR to performing the upgrade? This would explain all the
permissions errors you are getting in the DEXSQL.LOG

2. Have you also tried taking a look at the records in the DU00020 to ensure
all products you are installing and upgrading are currently set to
versionMajor = 9? If you have any product with a value other than 9, it means
there was an attempt in the past to install some product that then got
removed.

Best regards,

1. I checked and both my dynamics and my company database have dynsa as the
owner.

2. I checked that table and everything is 9 all the way down.

planning upgrade to GP 10
Hello Everybody. We are planning our upgrade to GP10, on a new server. We decided to go with MS Windows Server 2008 and are now trying to decide on SQL Server 2008 vs 2005 (we only have experience w 2000). I would like to go straight to SQL 2008. Word freezing 02-13-10
Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel I can use everything in Word except the drawing toolbar. Every time I try to open it I get the colour wheel and have to force quit. It has only started recently, it used to work perfectly. I have always installed Microsoft and Mac updates as they become availble. I also tried to reset the drawing toolbar but it froze then too! Any clues besides re-installing? It's OK.I found out about the com.microsoft.Word.plist thing and did that and it worked. Magic! ...

FRx drilldown and GP
I would like to be able to drill down to the individual A/P invoice level in FRx using data from GP 10. What posting settings in GP should I use to allow me to be able to drill down to the individual entry level transactions (i.e., invoice) in FRx? Right now when I drill down I only get to the point where the transaction shows "Purchases" which I guess is the level at which the transactions are posted to the G/L and not the entry level transactions. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you can drill down to A/P detail from within FRx...as far as I know, you ...

RAID 10 still best for DB's?
We run Exchange 2003 Enterprise. We have 3 Mailbox stores which had 1-2 databases in each and each maiailbox store in on a RAID 10 partition. We use to have them on RAID 5 at it was very slow sometimes, our average writes/reads to disk per second were sometimes hitting > 50 msecs. Now on RAID 10 we sometimes get the odd >30 msecs but many when backups are running. We are going to be upgrading our server soon, would RAID 10 be the best way? Plus we will eventually upgrade this new server to Exchange 2007. On Fri, 13 Apr 2007 08:00:11 +0100, "Gonzo" <no@no.com> ...

Upon installing it, every time I open money, it says the trial has expired and I must purchase the program to continue. I have followed the link it has gave me and also used the upgrade icon in the Money ...

Upgraded to access 07 from access 03
After i upgraded from access 07 from access 03 some of my commonly used functions are no longer working. For example, reports that have StrConv now ask for a parameter value. Sugestions: 1. If you have not yet done so, tell A2007 that you trust the folder where your database resides: Office Button | Access Options | Trust Center | Trust Center Settings 2. Open a code window (e.g. Ctrl+G), and choose References on the Tools menu. Do you have any "MISSING" references? Or are there any references to a version of Office other than 12? after 4.0 upgrade emails are no longer being associated with cases
We have a workflow rule that automatically fires whenever a new case is created to send an email with the case number, owner, etc. to the customer. When we were running MSCRM 3.0, the automated email would be automatically associated with the case. That is, the Emails regarding field would automatically be filled in with the associated case. After a recent upgrade to 4.0, the workflow rules still fire and emails still get automatically created when a case is created, but the regarding field is blank. Our support reps now have to go into the Contact record, find the automated email, a...

RAID 1 or RAID 10 for Exchange 2003
Are there any differences between RAID 1 and RAID 10 for Exchange for performance? We currently have a RAID 5 volumes that has a 80GB Private and 18GB public Databases on one volumes. We were thinking of creating 3 x RAID 10 volumes, so we would split the private Databases into 3. Or 7 x RAID 1 volumes and split the Databases even further (use all our disk slots up). The new disks will go from 10,000 RPM to 15,000 RPM. Our Average Disk sec/write is usually over 20ms and quite often 50ms. Look forward to you suggestions RAID 10 is always going to offer better disk performance, but yo...
