Test Possible Performance Gain After DBCC DBREINDEX

Hi,

Recently I was asked to reindex on one large database tables - there
was a performance issue and we hope rebuild the indexes will help. I
ran the DBCC DBREINDEX command for each tables in this database, I
also ran EXEC EXEC sp_updatestats to update statistics.
We use SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition.

After I reindexed the tables, I was asked to test if performance is
better than before.

I would like to know, if there is some simple query/tool available to
help me to test, or confirm that after database table index rebuild,
the performance is better or acceptable.

I understand a truly sql performance test requires carefully designed
test cases, however I believe in my case, my manager only need a rough
test result. It would be great if there is a =93quick recipe=94 exists and
I can use.

Much appreciate for your suggestions/help, and thank you in advance.

Bob

Possible to change the default cell format?
Hello - I am constantly changing the format of my cells (when they are the number format) to include the comma separator and to use zero decimal places. Is there a way to change the settings so that by default the values will not have decimal places (and by default they will have the comma separator? Thanks for any suggestions! (FYI, I considered creating a simple macro to do this, but I believe that it would limit me from being able to use the UNDO command as often as I would like). To address the "default" number format, you would have to use a template as your default workbook...

Any tools for moving CRM data to a Test Domain?
We have a test domain set up and we would like to move our CRM data over. I have started the steps for data migration via the CDF tool - but hit a road block with regards to IDs - it seems the CDF tables want a number ID and will not accept CRMs GUID IDs. Before I go re-IDing everything - I need to ask if there is a handy tool for moving your CRM data from one machine to another (must go through CDF or similar, new AD) Thanks! Is this Multi-Search Macro Possible?
Hi All, If it is not the right place for my question, please point me to the correct newsgroup. I have a perplexing problem building a macro in excel that I hope someone can help me solve as follows; I have a stream of data values in column AB2:AB14516. And what I would like to do, is to find lowest value in the last highest group of 13 consecutive values, rather than the first group using Excel VBA. Is it possible to Track in CRM 4.0 to multiple records?

Possible to force output format of empty elements?
I have built a small integration app using VS .NET 2003 that extracts orderinformation from a 'webshop'. Extracting the orderinformation works fine. Appending the order elements in the XmlDocument was also done in a jiffy. The final step is to save the document to disk and then ship it to another system using ftp. The xml orderfile produced must fit a set specification of the recieving system. That specification states that empty elements must be formated in one line using a long format for empty elements. It should look like this: <address1></address1> And not like...

Workflow based on create Product entity -- possible?
Hello all, Sorry if this is an elementary question -- I'm kind of fumbling my way around on this, and I haven't found any documentation or resources on any other sites that directly answer it. The basic workflow I want to accomplish is for our accounting department to be notified (via email) when a product specialist adds a new Product to the system. I'm trying to use Workflow Manager to create a new workflow based on the create event for the Product entity type, but that type isn't in that primary list in Manager. I see maybe 25 built-in types in there, but not Product. Th...

Unit testing code containing private delegate declarations
Hi guys I am using Visual Studio 2005. Now, I want to create unit tests for some of my code. When this code contains private delegate declarations, MSV 2005 creates accessors for private methods using these the private delegates. But somehow the delegate accessors are not created. This situation results in an error saying close to 'the delegate accessor is not recognized' and tells me that 'I probably should add references to assemblies, that contain the unknown component'. The question: is it not possible to unittest code, which contains private delegates? Have a nic...

Performance trouble when changing from XL2000 to XL2003
I have a rather large file (50 mb) that I have moved from a Win98/XL2000 computer to XP/XL2003 computer. When the file starts to calculate I get a %-age figure reaching 20 % and then it simply stops. (I have a lot of lookup-functions in the file.) What can I do to get this fixed ? I'm not sure I've ever seen a workbook that big. But if I have calculation questions, I go to Charles Williams' site: http://www.decisionmodels.com/ Maybe you'll find something that helps. Is It Possible To Dynamically Name Series?
I was wondering if Excel will allow a series name to be dynamic? For example, ="30-Day Target, (" + sheetname!cell + ")" where sheetname!.cell value is a date to yield a Series Name = 30-Day Target, (mm.dd.yyyy) I hope this question is clear. Thank you in advance for your help. -- MJ First, create that string in a cell. Use the Text function to format your date in that string. Then, in the usual dialog with the chart's Source data, click that cell as the Series name. -- Wigi http://www.wimgielis.be = Excel/VBA, soccer and music "MJ" wrote: >...

Test Backup restore from Exchange 2000 to StandbyServer

I also would like to have an idea of time it takes to perform that backup and test data integrity often. Is it really possible to just send an email?
I am one of those people who dreads coming back to Outlook. Here is the reason why. All I want to do is send one email that resides with nine others in my outbox. I have spent 4 hours trying to figure out how to send one stupidly simple email. I have just completed writing 30 pages of code for a website but I can't send one email with Outlook. Thread Safe DefineDosDevice Possible?
Hi, Is there a way to request DefineDosDevice to fail if the device (e.g. drive letter) is already assigned. As it stands now it appears that the last defined value is used. The problem is if two things are defining different paths at the same time you can't tell what you're actually opening (going to have to query the opened handle somehow to determine what it is because you can't do any QueryDosDevice before/after opening a handle because it may change by the time you call CreateFile to open the drive or by the time you QueryDosDevice afterwards.).
