SQL in Excel data
Is there a possibility/way to run an SQL query in an excel data sheet?
I have quite some data like the sample below, now i would like to have the
sum of spending for each person. Like it is possible in Access.
Advice would be appriciated.

For example, dmPaperSize returns 1 which is DMPAPER_LETTER, how do I
calculate the paper size like in this case 8.5"x11"?
There are so many paper sizes, is there any function call to calculate
based on the return value of dmPaperSize or mapping between the value
of dmPapersize and actual size?
The reason I asked the question was because dmPaperLength and
dmPaperWidth are 0 for some printers.
Also, my HP laserjet returns as a color printer (dmColor = 2) from

In excel 2000, I created an attendance worksheet for my
classes.(Alphabetized names down left vertical column. Dates across
top of horizontal row.) I added a different color to all cells in
every other row to make for easier reading of each student's name and
absences. Every other row stays with a white background.
My question: I wondered if it was possible to lock row colors while
allowing data to change on top of them. If a new student is added to
my class in alphabetical order, the alternating color pattern is often
lost. It is a pain to rechange row and cell colors.

...Cannot reinstall Exchange 5.5 on Small Business Server 4.5
Our Small Business Server 4.5 crashed yesterday and could only be
started by doing a repair of Windows NT. Unfortunately, this left the
Small Business Server programs partially installed. Now, Exchange will
not start. It has the message "A connection could not be made to the
Microsoft Exchange Server". I tried to reinstall Exchange, but get the
message "This component is already installed and cannot be modified".
Microsoft Exchange does not appear under Add/Remove Programs, so I
cannot uninstall it either. Any suggestions would be greatly

I have migrated from E5.5 to E2003 intra-Org migration and chose the option
SID migration via ADMT during migration .
I 've notice that both source domain and target domain accounts have been
added to mailbox and public folder resources which doesn't appear to be a
problem at the moment. However in the near future when I do decide to remove
the source domain would I be left with "zombie" source domain accounts???
In addition, granted that I chose to migrate SID history what will be the
result when the source Doman is remove. Will there be any performance impact

We recently installed exchange server 2003, had it coexisting with exchange
5.5 . We used the pfmigrate tool to create replication of public folders,I
had also moved around 75% of the users mail boxes to the 2003
server.Unfortunately Ifound out that the exchange 5.5 server has crashed and
now we cannot send or receive emails because earlier the mail flow was from
2003 to 5.5 and internet and vice versa.
How can I remove the 5.5 server and set the 2003 server to receive emails

So, this is probably really easy, but I just want to ask and see if I may be
missing something here. Some data on vendor numbers changed. Let’s say IBM
used to have a vendor number 12345 and now it’s vendor number is 56789. I
can identify IBM as IBM, but I really want to use the number, not the name.
Should I set up a table that ties the numbers together, so that Access knows
12345 = 56789? Or, should I do some kind of Update Query and change all
incidences of 12345 to be 56789? Or, is there some other, method, like a
‘best practices for missing data’?

I have noticed that each time I import data into an Excel spreadsheet
via a macro, a new named range (for the same range) is created. This
does not pose a problem, but after a while, I'll have a huge number of

Up until today I have been bable to add users fine and their address would
appear in both the 5.5 GAL and the exchange 2003 GAL.
Is a single site with 2 5.5 servers and 1 exchange 2003 server.
When I add a new user now through users and computers and put the mailbox on
the new exchange 2003 server the user gets his email addresses and appears in
the GAL on the 2003 server but people connected the the old 5.5 servers
cannot see it.
When I open the 5.5 exchange admin tool again if connected to one of the old
5.5 server I cannot see the person I just created but when connected the the

I built a form, then deleted 2 columns from the source table and now I get a
popup asking for the value of those 2 columns. The problem is, I don't use
those columns so I need to find what on the form is refferencing the deleted
I have looked at the control drop down on the properties window and the tab
order window and can't find a control with either one of the missing column
How do I determine what is trying to refference the deleted columns?
I found the problem, the column was still referenced in the underlying query
that fed the form.

Done a few of those You could do an in-place upgrade but you must be
absolutely sure about your backups. For me, the easiest (and probably
safest) way is to do a new installation of 2003 and run the two systems in
parralel until all users have been migrated to the new system before
shutting down the old system.
