Batch Recovery for Manufacturing

This is a suggestion to have a process similar to Batch Recovery for
manufacturing transactions.
We recently encountered a situation where a computer crashed while it was in
the process of posting several MO Receipts.
We did some investigating, and all the transactions were messed up. Some of
the components were consumed, some were not. The MO Activity window showed
the receipts for the finished goods, but the inventory qtys for the finished
goods did not get updated.
It would be nice to have a batch recovery process to recover the messed-up
transactions and allow the posting to finish properly.
Thanks,
Eleni

Thanks everyone for your help. -- GPUtilizer no, you cannot use IM to post batches but you can use VSTDGP to create a little app to post you...

OT: Disaster Recovery
Some of you may have heard that there was a major steam pipe explosion in midtown Manhattan yesterday evening, and I posted this in another forum. It applies equally well here, I think. ==== One of my clients has their offices in the block where the steam explosion in midtown happened today, and they are probably kicking themselves for not taking my advice seriously about a year ago when I suggested that they provision their server with Windows Terminal Server CALs so that if they had an emergency where they couldn't get into their offices, they'd be able to continue to work remo...

Save Batch Approval User ID
Recently our auditors asked to see our transactions that shows the approver's user id. Currently the approver's user id is only captured in the SY00500 tbl, but is not saved anywhere after the batch is posted; hense losing the approval audit rail. We are recommending that the approval information be saved somewhere even after the batch has been posted. Thank you. SOP Order Type Allocate by Doc/Batch V10
I guess this feature no longer works in V10 SP2 I can see the ALLOCABY field = 2 in SOP40200 but when the orders get created in SOP10100 the ALLOCABY field is set to 0 when it should be 2. BUG! The first transaction is OK (You can only use allocate/fulfill option OK) but then the ALLOCABY is set = 1 from 0 in SOP10100. From here on out for additional invoices off the order it is allocate by line which is what 1 means. Nasty bug.........too bad they don't set ALLOCABY = 2 and keep it! posting date on sales batch
We have all of our sales orders on a single sales batch. We post this batch every day in SOP so that orders ready for invoicing get transferred over for invoicing. The sales batch will continue to stay in the system as there will be other orders linked to it. Every day, when the sales batch is opened for posting, we have to remember to change the date to the current date. Is there any way to have the posting date update itself to current date. I thought this used to happen in earlier versions of Great Plains but is not happening with v8 Jack - We have a package of misc. customizations tha...

End User Recovery Report?
Is there such a thing? I see that DPM 2007 has a Recovery report that only shows what has been done from the administrative console. However, I would love to show my management how much time we are getting back from users doing their own end user recovery. This seems like a great ROI feature. Is there any way to pull that information from DPM 2007? No , there is no way to get this data. Closed Batch

No one instituted these closures as, I believe, is witnessed by there being no z-report. Batches on this register have closed since then as usual. Batch Total in Payables Management
Hi Does any one know the logic used in calculating the batch total for Payables Management ....it looks like it uses the absolute values but even then it does not match the document total which seems to be the logical total....I suspect the credit memos values are doubled but can someone please confirm? Thanks in advance AC AC, The batch totals in Payables should be the absolute value of the total of all the documents in a batch. So if you have a credit memo for $200 and 2 invoices for $400 each, the batch total should be $1000. -- Victoria Yudin Dynamics GP MVP Flexible Solutions...

Can I reprint Sales Invoices once the batch has posted?
If I print as historical document the invoices do not include the tracking # which we keep in the User Defined field. Is there a way to reprint a batch of invoices that has already been posted so that it has all data? Typically, you should be able to reprint an invoice (or range of invoices) by doing an inquiry on the specific document. However, what you may be experiencing is that your invoice format appears different from the one used when the invoices have not been posted yet. That's because GP has two different invoice formats, one for work (unposted) documents and one f...

Exchange LAN recovery
Hi I have recovered two servers a Exchange Server 2003 (latest patches ETC) and also have recovered a backup domain controller on a new LAN. However, the backup domain controller did not have a DNS server installed. So far I have installed a DNS server on the Domain controller and switched on the Global Catalogue option. Both servers appear to start OK but the Exchange server services will not start. How and what should I check in Active directory Services etc to get Exchange to run.
