Recently installed FP2003 on my new Windows7 OS. FP worked fine until today.
I received this message. "An unexpected error occurred: Not enough memory

I have the same problem and also, I can't insert pictures. When trying to
insert pictures, the insert window appears for 2 seconds and desappears
immediately.
Had you any solution to this mess?

It doesn't work on Win7, apparently. My only hedge is, I've only tried
it in the 64-bit version. From the frequency this question is asked,
it seems to apply to the 32-bit version too.

Only effective answer seems to be installing FrontPage 2003 in an XP
Mode virtual machine. Which, of course, Microsoft has put off limits
to the vast majority of folks with Win7. To take your roll at the
dice, see here:

Susan Bradley, in her blog, The Official Blog of the SBS Diva, has two
posts about XP Mode setup:

XP mode/remote apps with your OLD Windows XP desktop.
So what's the nicest thing about XP Mode?

And just a whole lot of entries about setting up Win 7 boxes.

All you need to know is it's running on Windows 7.

FrontPage 2003 is NOT compatible with Windows 7.

This is precisely the error behavior experienced with FrontPage 2003 on
Windows 7.

It *runs* great! You just can't do a SaveAs very effectively. Or a
few other "little" things like that. Not to mention Win7 doesn't
support FPSE, so your options for local webs are that much more
crippled. Only realistic advice, that truly offers support, is tell
folks to "Upgrade to XP" if they want FP2003 to run effectively.

None. You can install it and leave FP. It will work on your webs seamlessly.
Contains the same features as FP 2003, but was made for Sharepoint sites,
but works just fine for FP.

You might need to run that through babblefish a few more times, before
I'll have a hope of understanding where you're going with it.

Perhaps
"So he needs to just buy a New PC with Windows 7 and use that old Windows XP

"Now all that is needed for (Outlook?) Express to be made available as a
Windows 7 update, would you say!"

Karl,
It is babelfish (named after the babelfish in Douglas Adams "Hitchhikers'

closer to the mark in this case <g>

Could be. Although, I've found an *excellent* alternative to OE for
Win7 (MesNews). It's so nice, after all these years, I have to be
somewhat grateful to MSFT for breaking it for good. <g>

I've got the same problem and I am running XP Home SP3. Frontpage worked
fine on my old PC. The new one is to all extents an identical machine but
has this "memory" problem.

On Windows XP it is likely to be a different problem - the program fails to start due to lack of virtual memory. Is this the case?

The usual cure is to find and delete the cmdui.prf file. This occasioanlly gets corrupted and effectively absorbs all available memory, including virtual memory.
cmdui.prf is normally located in the folder:
%AppData%\Microsoft\FrontPage\State
(type this into the Windows Explorer address bar)

Deleting this file will also remove any customisations made to toolbars and menus.

Alternatively, download FP Cleaner from
http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and use the buttons for:
Delete hidden Cache (*.web) files
Delete hidden temporary files

If these do not help, then use
Restore Default Toolbars and Menus
(this last deletes the cmdui.prf file)

How to Write Memory Bitmap into BMP File?
In a MFC dialog, I add a button(IDC_BUTTON1), and the corresponding message function is: void CHhhhDlg::OnButton1() { // TODO: Add your control notification handler code here CClientDC clientDC(this); CDC memDC; memDC.CreateCompatibleDC(&clientDC); CRect rcClient; GetClientRect(&rcClient); CBitmap membitmap; membitmap.CreateCompatibleBitmap(&clientDC, rcClient.Width(), rcClient.Height()); memDC.SelectObject(&membitmap); for (int x = 0; x < rcClient.right; x ++) { for (int y = 0; y < rcClient.bottom; y ++) { memDC.SetPixel(x, y, x < y ? How can I lock worksheets while still allowing macros to operate? #2
When I lock the worksheets that macros should enter into while operating, I get an error message. Then macros couldn't of course work properly. How can I lock the worksheets and macros can still operate? Hi Enginguven, Setting the Protect method's UserInterfaceOnly parameter to true enables vba manipulation of the protected sheet. However, this setting is not persistent and needs to be reset each time the workbook is opened. Perhaps, therefore, you could set protection in the Workbook_Open or Auto_Open procedures, e.g.: '=========>> Sub Auto_Open() With Workshe...

Exchange 2000 Mailbox Manager Completes and processes 0 mailboxes

But reviewing the results it doesn't process any mailboxes and completes as soon as it starts. Therefore it leads me to believe that it's not working, another indication to me is that the information store is highly fragmented. I have not run the offline defrag and compacting of the database yet, and durning the Mailbox Management Process NO BACKUPS are scheduled. So something else is preventing i...

Font not available in 2007
I recently received a new computer w/ Windows 7 and Office 2007. I was using a 2003 word document with Olive Oil font. When I open this document w/v.2007 the document is filled with wing dings. If I try to change the font to something basic like Ariel it changes everything to square boxes. Is there a way to convert this or load the old font? Thanks, When you open the document in 2007, save the file as a .docx file, close it, when you open that file check if your fonts are showing correctly. If that doesn't work check if you can download the font somewhere else. Not su...
