Check that you can access the server from within the network by going
to http://server/exchange and then http://server.fqdn.com/exchange
If that works then simply opening TCP80 on the firewall and
implementing whatever NAT or port forwarding your specific network
requires will grant access to the box.

The big thing is the security. You ought to use a certificate on the
Exchange server so you can use HTTPS rather than HTTP.
See this:
http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/SSL_Enabling_OWA_2003.html for
initial instructions. You can move to a public certificate if you need

Upgrade Path
I know there is an upgrade available for 2003 Standard to 2007 Professional with a retail price around $600. Can you also "upgrade" 2003 Standard licenses to just a 2007 CAL, and does anyone know the ballpark cost? The majority of my "standard" users won't need the desktop app once we switch to Server. -- PMP MCTS MS Project 2007 Terrie: I am not aware of any upgrade path from 2003 client to 2007 web CAL. In any event, the web CAL price is rather reasonable to begin with, and if you have any kind of discount with Microsoft, these are rather inexpe...

How to migrate Exchange from parent to child domain?
Scenario: W2003 Forest consisting of 2 child domains. Single Exchange 2003 server in root domain, containing mailboxes for accounts in all three domain. We want to add a second Exchange server in one of the child domains for the mailboxes for this child domain only. What's the best way to approach this? TIA. You'll be joining the same Exchange org and probably Admin group so the only question is will you need a different routing group? This will depend on whether or not the child and parent domains are at separate sites. Regardless of the routing group you should just be ab...

Wachovia charging for MS Money Access
Well, one of the reasons I switched to wachovia two years ago from Wells Fargo was the free access to my own money data using Microsoft Money. Now Wachovia is going to start charging $5.95 per month starting in April. They have my money, are using it to fund loans and yet they want to charge me to simply communicate data. (Yes, I pay bill with it but they don't charge their customers for on-line bill pay which does the same thing.) So, what other bnks are out there that still have free access to accounts using Microsoft Money? Thanks. Steve No fees at Chase... It's been a ...

Scheduled Tasks Not Working after Server 2003 Upgrade
Last week, I upgraded our Exchange 2003 server to Windows Server 2003. After the upgrade, I started getting DCOM errors (Event ID 10021). According to an article I found, I modified the permissions in DCOM Config/IIS WAMREG admin service to give the Network Service permissions under Launch and Activation. I have a scheduled task to back up my Information Store daily. Since I made this change, the Task Scheduler is not running. I can manually back up the Information Store successfully. Are there other permissions I need to change? Thank you in advance for any help. Kate Townsend ...

If they are 2002 files and we open them in 2003, the font sizes change (usually larger). Is there anyway to have 2003 open files so that the font sizes open as originally created? Forwarding or Alias, sending mail outside Exchange
Hello Everyone, I'm using Exchange 2003 on Windows SBS 2003. We have an employee that we'd like to avoid giving access to OWA for, but we'd like him to have an account @ourcompany.com, and have that mail go to his hotmail.com account. Review: Mail sent to Tom@OurCompany.com is sent to Tom@Hotmail.com. Can I do this using Exchange? Do I need to set up a user in Active Directory and set up an exchange account for him and then a rule to forward all of this mail to Tom@Hotmail.com? I would prefer it if there is a way to forward all incoming messages addressed to tom@ourcompany...
