Unknown mailbox delivery for multiple domains

Hi Expects

I'm currently trying to host a number of domains on my Exchange 2000 server:

Primary domain : primary.com
Secondary domain : secondary.com

When messages with non-existing mailbox arrived as notexist@primary.com,
normal NDRs were sent out to sender normally. But when messages arrived at
notexist@secondary.com , the following NDR are being sent out:

-----
This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.

Unable to deliver message to the following recipients, because the message
was forwarded more than the maximum allowed times. This could indicate a
mail loop.

            notexist@secondary.com

-----

When I check the message log regarding the above message, it seems the
message are being looped betwen my e-mail gateway and my exchange server for
a number of times and then being time out. It is funny that the same case
works perfectly with my primary domain name. Is there a solution to this
problem mentioned above ?

Thanks in advance
Bruce

Thanks.
Bruce

Hi Bruce,

Make sure that the “This Exchange Organization is responsible for all mail
delivery to this address” check box is selected on the recipient policy for
the secondary domain. Also make sure that the checkbox before the secondary
smtp domain field in the recipient policy is selected !!!

Hi Dirk

Is that a MUST to select the checkbox as I don't want every new user that I create contains all the domain e-mail addresses that I
host and neither don't want to remove them manually ?

Thanks

Mailbox restore #4
I have an interesting problem. I have recently migrated from Exchange 5.5 to 2003. All the current mailboxes have been successfully migrated from the 5.5 server to the 2003 server but the 5.5 server still exists in the organization. I have suddenly discovered a need to restore a mailbox that was deleted from the 5.5 server prior to the migration. I have only a database backup from the 5.5 server from just prior to when the mailbox was deleted. The 5.5 box is not a domain controller and would need (I think anyway) to be attached to the network in order to start services or manipulate mailboxes....

Deleted Items Retention on Mailbox Store
We have Exchange Server 2003 and have set the Limits under Deletion Settings to keep deleted items for 30 days, but the items are not being deleted. I found under our Server Properties in System Manager, the Mailbox Management Process, but it was set to Never run. Will running this process delete the items older than 30 days, or is it necessary to do something else to have these items be automatically deleted? Thanks, Deleted Items Retention simply means that once you have emptied your Deleted Items Folder, those items are not purged from the database for 30 days. DIR does _not_ manage ...

Deleting Multiple Transactions in Money 2007
I have Money set up with my categories all laid out. And I like to keep the transactions for one year separate from the rest. So at the end of each year, I make a duplicate copy of my Money database, then delete all the transactions, reset the starting balances as appropriate, and start over. But it's tedious as hell deleting all the transactions one at a time. Hard on my computer keyboard too. Has anybody discovered a way to select and delete lots of transactions simultaneously? Thanks. ddc In microsoft.public.money, DeeDeeCee wrote: >I have Money set up with my categories al...

Multiple login popups
I have several users who are experiencing multiple login popups when they open Outlook 2003 and connect to our Courier IMAP server. When this happens, it's a crap shoot as to whether they can send or receive email, Outlook might hang, or fail to connect to the server ("error receiving null folder" or something to that effect.) Worth noting is that each of them has a 2nd Outlook profile which they use when they're out of the office (This pofile is setup to talk to local Putty socket tunnel, but the problem I describing shows up when I've chosen their main profile). Move Mailbox with source Server Offline
I have moved one of my E5.5 servers from Production into a Test lab to test E5.5 to E2K3 migration scenarios. I imported a full GAL export from Production just to make sure that all Users, Custom Recipients, and Distribution Lists came over OK. Now, however, I have Mailboxes that think they are on servers that don't exist in the lab! I need to find a way (import, vbscript, etc.) that can tell the mailbox that it's Home server is the lab server; even though the Home server it's currently set to doesn't exist in this network. Mass change of same cell in multiple files??????
I have about 180 files that are price pages from a company we sell products from. The same cell in every file, Sheet 1 P1 is a factor that is used in formulas through out the files. I guess I am wondering if there are 1 of 2 solutions. 1) Can I mass change that P1 cell in all 180 files to be a different number instead of 1.0? or 2) Can I mass change any reference to that cell in any sheet to point to one cell that we can change anytime and only do 1 update for all 180 files? Creating mailboxes via command line.

I did look on the windows scripting page, but did not see much that was useful. David Eaton David: You can use LDIFDE or CSVDE. Do some research on both.
