Transaction log file

Hi all,
if exchange database is not backed for years so it wolud result in a pile
up of transaction log files so there would be a situation where in the last
log file would turn up to EFFFFFF.log further it cannot create a log file so
how do we take a backup as the store comes down

Good question although you'd be out of a job before you got anywhere
near using all the possible logs.
Are you asking for any specific purpose or are you speculating?

I believe Exchange would use the res1.log and res2.log files and shut down
Exchange...I would imagine you just wouldn't be able to keep the stores
mounted, and you would be forced into deleting transaction log files...not a
good thing at all...

no...changing the path will not do that...since you are just speculating, I
would say that getting yourself into this kind of a situation is a very bad
thing; so the best thing to do would be to ensure you never get into a spot
like this...

AVI is not moving when manifest file is present
Hi, I encountered the following problem on Window XP: - the AVI from my progress dialog stops moving when a function which takes a longer time is executed. For example when the HTTPSendRequest function is called and the application waits for the server answer ( aprox 10-15 seconds ), the AVI stopps to move. This happens only when there is a manifest file. When the manifest file is missing, this problem doesn't exists. I made some tests using SPY++ and saw that when the manifest file is present the AVI control receives the WM_TIMER message when it moves. While the application is waiting ...

Outlook 2002 Temp files
I have a problem with a user that receives an email wiht an attachment from many people. The catch is the attachment is always the same name. Each time she opens the attachment, Outlook creates the temp file and appends an "_1", "_2", to the end of the file name. After approximately 100 of these, the user can no longer open the attachments. They recieve an error, "Can't create file..." Does any one know if there is a limit to the path where the temp files are created? That's the only reason I can come up with on why this is failing. As soon...

Sharing .MDB file in Vista..
For our project at work, we have had an Access Database developed for multiple users. It's split into a "front end" and "back end" as described previously in many of the threads in this newsgroup. The "back end" is hosted centrally on an external hard drive attached to our workgroup - Western Digital MyBook World Ed. We have been having issues with poor performance, and so decided to migrate the "Back End" to a shared folder hosted on a spare Vista PC. (3/4 of the machines connecting to this DB are Vista, 1/4 are XP) However, I've set t...

Best way to share .pst file between 2 computers?
Hi there, We have a small office with 2 computers. Only one has had Internet access as we had to keep one machine stand-alone to run a custom application that was rendered inoperable as soon as the PC was networked. We no longer have a need to run this custom application and it would make good sense to network the two XP machines together to share resources, printers etc. We plan to connect the second machine to the existing switch/ADLS router that connects the first machine to the Internet. How can I force IE8 to always play .m4a files with WMP instead of
I'm running Win7 x64. Prior to QuickTime being installed, .m4a files would open up in WMP when I'm using IE8, which is my preference. Also, outside of IE, for example in Windows Explorer, double-clicking on a .m4a file also opens up WMP, per my association default. But as soon as I install QuickTime--even though the default for .m4a is still set to WMP--in IE8 the .m4a file is now opening up with the QuickTime browser plugin! Windows Explorer is still fine and it opens up the file with WMP, but only IE is using the wrong default program. How can I change the def...

Access 2007

I am not trying to open it excusively myself, and no one else has it opened exculsively either. Second, When I try to run search and replace operations I get many errors ...

Transactions & Categories Question
What I'm looking to do is this: Let's say I walk into Walmart and spend $100 on my credit card. To keep it simple let's say I spend $25 on groceries, $25 on clothes, $25 on hardware and $25 on gas. I currently have a credit card account where I would normally enter a new transaction and put it under the groceries category for $100. Using this method I won't know where each of the $25 is going - just $100 to groceries.
