some emails not coming through internally

Hello,

I have a 3COM NBX phone system. It has the capability of sending an e-mail
to a user with the voice message attached.

That system is on my 10.1.x.x network.

My exchange server is on my 10.3.x.x. network.

There's a place in the NBX system to put the name of the SMTP server. I've
tried both the email.mydomain.com and the IP address of the server.

The messages do not come through.

If I change the e-mail address for delivery to an account such as yahoo.com,
it comes through no problem.

I have a test exchange server at home. If I set it to go to that, goes no
where. I can't find any log anywhere of what happens.

Anyone have any clues on this?

Thanks!

Can you're 10.1.xx network route to 10.3.x.x?

If you have any servers on the 10.1.x.x network, try a traceroute (cmd line
'tracert' then IP of your Exchange Server) From here you'll find the network
device that doesn't know where 10.3.x.x is.

If it infact routes successfully, then you have some port filtering in
place. Try telnetting to your Exchange server on port 25 - does it
succesfully connect?

Paste your trace route in a reply to this thread so I can assist further.

Enable SMTP logging on the SMTP server and see if the external phone
system is connecting and delivering the messages.

Having problems receiving large email files, such as 2 MB photo attachments. File downloads into Windows Live Mail, and I can view it, but server Fuse.net doesn't recognize task as complete. CRM Email rule deployment
Does anyone know what the actual content of the rule deployed to users mailboxes is supposed to contain. I have looked at the implementation guide and this suggests that the rule looks for a tracking token in the subject of the email which seems right to me. The rule that appears to be deployed in users mailboxes seems to be based solely on whether the users name is in the To or Cc boxes. I think this is wrong and if it is how can I change it. Thanks Gordon Why do you think the rule is wrong. If you are solely looking for the CRM Tracking number then you would not receive emails in...

Limit recipients for external mail but not internal
I'm looking for a way to set a limit on the number of recipients an outbound email can have. However, I don't want to limit the number of recipients a message sent internally can contain. I set the limit on the Message Delivery -> Defaults tab - but this limit also applied to email sent internally. Internal employees sending an email to one of our DL's that had a number of members which was higher than the limit I set would have their message rejected. I checked on our outbound SMTP connector but didn't see anywhere to set a limit there. Any ideas? TIA, - Arron ...
