when reply getting old exchange server 5.5 GAL addresses
We upgraded to Exchange 2003 Server in a new domain from Exchange 5.5 on an
NT 4 domain.
We exported the user's emails to a pst file and imported them into their new
account on the exchange 2003 server.
Now users get undeliverable messages when replying to email sent before the
upgrade. The problem doesn't occur when users manually select the same
addresses from the Global Address List.
It looks like the clients are pulling old Exchange Server 5.5 addresses. How
can I update our Exchange clients to use the new addresses in the new GAL?

Okay, I get it that the users may be constructing messages that don't conform
to the RFC (muliple recipients in the TO field, using the wrong delimiter to
separate recipients, etc). Is there a way to configure Exchange to either
ignore those RFC elements that are not necessarily enforced strictly by other
email servers or to correct certain problems automatically, such as replacing
the wrong delimiter with the correct one?

Outlook Tips by email:
We are having problems with clients using OWA with Exchange 2003 SBS. They
can successfully log in and receive mail, and can send new mail. However, if
they attempt to reply to a message from a user on the same Exchange server,
OWA will hang completely. Replies to external messages work normally.
There are no error messages on the client, and nothing that I can find on
the server side. The mail does not get sent.
This may not be the correct forum for this post, but I'm sure someone will
let me know if that is the case :-)

I've tried everything I can think of. What is the best
way, that actually works, to move public folders from
Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003?
The 5.5 box is in one domain and the 2003 is in another.
A trust relationship has been set up between the domains
so they see each other.
Other than that, nothing seems to work to get the public
folders moved. We already tried pFmigrate.
I just created replicas for all of mine on the Exchange 2003 servers...then
when I was ready, I removed the replicas from the 5.5 servers...

I have been asked if the Exchange 2003 standard version that we have
is capable of running in a 'high availability' mode. For instance,
can I have a backup Exchange server sitting on my network so that if
the main one were to go down, the secondary one can take over.
If I can, where would I look for information on how to do this? Also,
would I need to set this up in a cluster?
you'd need clustering or some 3rd party solution for that, and I don't
believe you can even cluster with Standard Edition...I could be wrong on
that point, though...
