adding a Carriage Return or Line Feed character to an update query
I'm building an update query that will concatenate two fields and update the
first field with the combination of the two fields. However, I would like
to separate the two components with a blank line, or two carriage return or
line feed characters. In Visual Basic, I'd use vbcr&vbcr to do this. How
can I do this in an update query?
Thanks in advance,

I have two email accounts that are surveyed by Outlook. One is a Pop3 account
and the other is an MSN account. I have selected the Pop3 account as my
default. Also, a pop-up option allowed me to receive the Pop3 email in the
existing [MSN] account. So in my favorites inbox appears emails related to
both accounts. If i generate a new email, the reply address [ie the sent from
address] is indicated as the Pop3 address. if I reply to a Pop3 rec'd email
my return address is indicated as my Pop3 address. However, if I reply to an
email originally addressed to my MSN address, my reply wil...Returning text value instead of number
The following query IIf([Subject]="holidays",[SumOfNon Chargeable],"0")
provides the value of the non chargeable field which originates as a number.
The query returns the correct value but returns it as text and not a number,
how can I rectify this?
Omit the quotes around the zero:
IIf([Subject]="holidays", [SumOfNon Chargeable], 0)
Access sees the quotes, and assumes that it is Text.
If that doesn't fix it, you need to dig deeper into how [SumOfNon
Chargeable] is generated.

I have a question regarding Exchange 2000 System Manager. When I list mailbox
sizes from ESM I can see a user's mailbox sizing over 7gb. If I control the
size using Outlook I get the same mailbox with a 3,2gb size.
Mailbox maintenance services are running every night, and removal policy for
deleted messages is set to 0 (immediate remove).
Which size is correct? What is missing? Is there something lost in the db?
Thanks in advance.

How do I change the email template to show the email coming from a different
user other than the record owner. We would like to use Queue or other user

use email form to reconstruct the content of the email template and change
the from field. you should be able to insert slugs etc in the email form.
For email templates the from field is locked to the owner.

Is there a way to get copies of all incoming and/or outgoing emails in a
public folder ? I basically need to be able to monitor all company-wide email
by having it in a public folder that only I could access.
Make a new mailbox to hold all the messages. In ESM, right click on your
mailbox store. General tab. Tick Archive all messages sent or received by
mailboxes on this store. Pick the mailbox.

Would someone be kind enough to outline the steps required to automatically
fwd an Exchange 2003 Mailbox to an external POP3 account (Crackberry). This
user only has OWA so creating an Outlook rule won't work.
You can do this without an Outlook rule by creating a Contact with the
external email address as the targetAddress, and forward the user's email to
the Contact from user properties | Delivery Options.

I am in the process of producing a HTML mailshot email to customers that I
propose to do in Publisher and send via Outlook. What would happen if the
customer cannot accept HTML emails? Is there functionality to convert the

Not really they would have to know what to do with the html. This is big
drawback when sending out html newsletter via email. You may want to
consider sending as a pdf.

Our network issues involving Exchange 2003 have led our management to a

way). Is it possible?
