question regarding transaction log files

Does the transaction log file (E000X.log) contain the contents of emails 
sent or received by a user or it just contains information regarding emails. 
The reason i am asking this is that incremental backup will only backup the 
transaction log files, not the databases. My concern is that if i perform a 
Normal backup on Monday and then perform incremental backup for the rest of 
the week and then i have a database crash during the week, will I be able to 
restore emails received to the database after the last Normal backup?

if you do a weekly fulll, and then a nightly incremental, you will be able
to restore the full, then replay the log files into the database...if you
also have you transaction logs on a separate disk, and only the drive
housing the database fails, you can also replay all the existing transaction
log files, and this is what gives you "up to the moment of failure" recovery
capability...nothing need be lost...

Hi,

You will be able to restore, and the process will be to restore the full 
backup from Monday, then restore the incrementals in the correct order 
(e.g., Tues, Wed, Thurs, etc.).

Just out of curiosity, why not take a full backup every night?

Thanks for the reply. I can then assume that the trascaction log will
contain all email messages sent by users. Is this assumption correct?

Publisher can not save file
I recently started having troubles with my Publisher 2003. Whenever I go to save my files now, using save as or just the save button, it gives me a dialog box that says "Can not save file." I have a rule so that after the e-mail comes in, it searches for specific words in the e-mail header. I set up this rule to search for sober.worm since I'm receiving a copious amount of spam e-mails which include the sober.worm attachment. Missing Transactions
I hadn't updated my MS Money 2006 from my online banking for a while (maybe a couple of months behind). When I went in to accept the transactions that were downloaded, I found that there was a 2-3 week gap of transactions that I didn't get downloaded. These tranasactions are about 3 months old, so I thought if I changed the setting to "match transactions within" a 180 day range under the Online Service Settings. Continuing problmes with chkdsk and PST file
My PST file is apparently corrupted, with "Data error, cyclic redundancy check" upon starting Outlook. As per earlier advice, i ran chkdsk /r. But, chkdsk hangs. The % done on phase 4, file data check, was moving along at 1% per every 1 to 5 minutes. Then, at exactly 50%, it just stopped moving. I am creating a tech manual where each chapter is its own file. I have created an outline numbered list and saved the list in a template that I then use to create the new chapters.
