Odd issue - Email address not same as SMTP

Hi,

Odd issue this one.

Someone created an account (Logon) for a new starter the other day. Lets say
'Dave Smith' for easy reference. E-mail account created as well(Exchange
2000) and it puts the default Dave.Smith@companyname.com as default SMTP
address.

Normally all fine, never have to look again.

Now the user is complaining that there is a rogue 'S' infront of their first
name!? Sure enough when they sent a test e-mail it can out as
Sdave.Smith@companyname.com

I just can't work out why. I view every attribute for the user mail account
and nobody has mistakenly put an S infront.

Anyone any clue as to why this would happen and what else i can check!?

Thanks in advance,

Check the recipient policy. What are you using to generate the smtp
address format under the email address policy tab?

Someone has!
Check the mail alias on the AD account to see if there's an extra s.
If there is, remove it. That will cause the smtp address to change
eventually (you can do it manually)
If you can't find anything then simply remove the extra letter. If it
does come back then you will know that the exta letter is in the mail
alias field

Thanks for the replies.

Apparently this was a 'user error' where they had put the rogue 'S' in the
reply address within Outlook Express.

All sorted.

Thanks.

Problems with creating a newsletter
I chose the form "Newsletter - email". I have created a 3 page newsletter. Now, I have NO IDEA how to send it out as an email. I do not want to send it as an attachment. I cannot figure out which "save as" format or what I need to do so that i can email this newsletter. Is there a website that goes through how to do this? Am I correct when I say that it has to be html in order for me to send it as email? That is not one of the options. Any help you give me would be greatly appreciated. Send to certain person using specific email account
I send an email to a certain receipient but don't want to use the default email account. Is it possible that when I send to them (plain text) , that it will choose the other account I want to use to send it? Please advise how I set this up. Thanks. I do not believe that this can be achieved automatically through standard use of Outlook as you need to manually specify the name of the account to send from if different than the default. However, it would be possible using the Outlook object model. An Addin would need to be developed that monitored each mail item prior to sending. If the d...

Multiple copies of email in "Forward to"contact
HIe, I am running Exchnage 2003. My CEO has a conatct in our organisation that refer to his blackberry contact. I have set the forwarding to also keep a copy in his mailbox. What happens is that three copies of his forwarded email hit his blackberry account! Only one hits his internal mailbox. What I ahve determined is that the front end Exchange server seems to be creating the additional copies. Is this how its meant to be (don think so cos its such a nuisance and my CEO keeps complaining about it). How do I tell the front end server that this guy's mail server is the one that...

VCard issue #2

When I open it, nothing is there - it's empty. I can't find anything regarding this problem on google or MS's website. Anybody have any ideas? Is it a problem with Outlook? automating email marketing with workflow in CRM 4.0
Hello, I am attempting to prepare a client demo that demonstrates some of the features of Microsoft CRM 4. The potential client is a staffing agency, and I have spent some time thinking about how they might use the product. Here is a business process I have thought up that, if I could get it to work, would be great to show at a demo. 1. An account calls about an opportunity. The opportunity is entered. The opportunity has certain skills attached to it, such as: SQL Server, Linux, C#, etc 2. Contacts (candidates) also have certain skills attached to them, such as: SQL Server, Linux, C...

Email cannot be resolved...
When you send an e-mail message from an existing Microsoft Business Solutions CRM contact, the e-mail address does not resolve to the contact record. When you view the e-mail message in Microsoft CRM, you receive the following error message: The sender's email address could not be resolved to a record in the system. At least one recipient could not be resolved to a record in the system. Recurring email #2
I have a user running Outlook 2002. She has been sending out an email every week to a few other users to remind them to go out on the network and check a certain file. I advised her to have each person set up a recurring calendar reminder so she no longer has to do this. She was aware that she could do this but wanted to know if there was a way she could create a recurring email from herself to these other people instead. I am not aware of a way to do this in Outlook so I thought I'd post this to see if anyone else knew if this was possible. Thanks! Derek Derek <derek.larson...
