NDR on Public Folders when certain servers try to replicate

We have a multi site Exchange 2003/2000 server environment and I am
noticing NDR messages similar to the following being sent to the
postmaster:

Undeliverable:Delivery Status Notification (Failure)

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

      Subject:
      Sent:	17/10/2005 15:34

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

      Public Folder Store (Exch2k3svr) on 17/10/2005 15:35
You do not have permission to send to this recipient. For
assistance, contact your system administrator.
            <smtp.domain.co.uk #5.7.1>

If I click on "Send again" the only other information I can glean is
that the source of the email was from one of the other Exch2000 servers
in the domain. The problem is also occuring between Exch2000 servers,
and not just to the Exch2003 servers.

I guess there is some kind of permission problem going on at the
Exchange Server level but I can't find what the default permissions
should be on the server or public folders. Can someone point me in the
right direction or list what perms you have on your Exch Servers.

Thanks in advance.

VPN, Exchange Server, Palm hotsync
My Toshiba 3500 was successfully synchronizing Outlook over a VPN to my Exchange Server until I installed the Palm Pilot m505 synchronization software. After this, I could not connect over the VPN to synchronize Outlook. This was a problem that showed up in Outlook, not in the Palm software itself. However, the problem started when I installed the Palm software and stopped when I removed it. Any idea what the heck is going on? old Exchange Server remains site folder server
Hello, I am trying to replace an old exchange 2000 server with a new 2003 server. I have moved all the mailboxes, public folders and system folders as per the KB article regarding 'removing the first exchange 2000 server in a site.' However, the old Exchange 2000 server is still showing up as the site folder server in AD. I have not uninstalled Exchange from the old server yet - will the site folder server role be automatically reassigned at that time or will I have to manually edit the AD with ADSI Edit and put the DN of my new Exchange server in there to change this role? Also, am ...

How to change multiple folders views in Outlook
When you first create an account within Outlook (currently using 2007 but I'm sure it's the same for other versions) it defaults the folders so that certain columns are visable they all have the viewing pane enabled. Is there a way of changing one folder so that all folders look identicle (Deleted, Drafts, Inbox, Junk E-Mail, Outbox etc etc etc). I'm sure there must be a way but I'd be damned if I can find it...and it's driving me nuts!! NNTP Server Setup
I have setup NNTP services using Exchange System Manager, and can access, post and read those posts. However, I have a few questions which I have not been able to find answers for via Google, the MS knowledge base, or this forum. 1. Is there a way to hide the "control.*" groups from users? 2. Is there a way to (securly) allow a user to edit/delete their own posts? (default permissions on the Public Folders folder are setup to allow edit/delete for the owner of a post) TIA for any help I can get on this. Creating a Browse for Folder
I have seen programs where there is an edit field for defining the location of a file and then to the right of the field is a button with 3 periods on it which when clicked brings up a browse for folder file box where the user can choose a directory and file and then it is populated in the edit field. Is there a custom control to use for this or do I have to develop this myself? Take a look at SHBrowseForFolder and CFileDialog. You probably want CFileDialog. -- Ajay Kalra [MVP - VC++] ajaykalra@yahoo.com "William Gower" <w_gower@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:Olf0wrmk...

Upgrading to v3.0 & Utilizing a Test Server
I would like to be able to build a test environment to test upgrade a real copy of our production CRM db (v1.2) and test the upgrade to v3. I know the best way to build a test copy is a clean install of 1.2 and migrate data and import our current schema. But that does not give me my actual db in test, all it gives me is data and schema. I want to be able to have a test db the mirrors production with all the store procedures and triggers we have or may have in place. That way I know really what will happen when I upgrade. Is there a way to do this? I have a second domain that I can use...

CRM 1.2
I am going to move the CRM SQL databases to a new server. We will also be moving Great Plains off the CRM server and on to the new SQL server. We are bouncing around the idea of naming the new SQL server to the name that the current CRM server uses and renaming the current CRM server. The thinking here is that we won't have to touch the Great Plains clients. What kinds of issues can I expect in this scenario? I believe that CRM "might" make us of the SID in which case I would need to use SysPrep to create the new one? I wouldn't think that this is that unusal of a proje...

Outlook Freezes when trying to open attachment
We're running Outlook 2002 on a Windows 2000 Terminal Server with Service Pack 4. This only occurs when using word as the e-mail editor. When using the native Outlook e-mail editor, its fine. Is this a known issue and is there a fix for it? SBS/Exchange and Blackberry Enterprise Server
