Move Mailbox Fails - Sometimes

All:

Having a sporadic issue with my Exchange 2003 server. I am in the final
phases of a 5.5 migration and on occasssionally, the move mailbox command
fails with 3 errors. If I try it again it will work. Very odd.

I get these errors when it fails:

9175
The MAPI call 'OpenMsgStore' failed with the following error:
The attempt to log on to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer has failed.
The MAPI provider failed.
Microsoft Exchange Server Information Store
ID no: 8004011d-0512-00000000

9167
Unable to get an administrative interface to the mailbox store on server
'EX1'.
Error: The attempt to log on to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer has
failed.
The MAPI provider failed.
Microsoft Exchange Server Information Store
ID no: 8004011d-0512-00000000

1008
Unable to move mailbox 'testuser1'.
Error: The attempt to log on to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer has
failed.
The MAPI provider failed.
Microsoft Exchange Server Information Store
ID no: 8004011d-0512-00000000

The store is started and nothing MS seems to suggests is happening. I just
want to add that I have 1 storage group and 4 mailbox stores. I see the
system attendant mailbox is present in store 1 but not in the others. A
system mailbox is present in all 4 stores.

Anything else I should check?

Thanks

IMF moving mail to Junk Folder
Hi, We are running Exchange 2003 SP1. Clients are running Outlook 2003 SP1 and SP2. We have just installed the Intelligent Message Filter on our SMTP gateway server. All things looked to be going great until I noticed that the Junk Mail Folder starting filling up. When I checked the folder to see what was in there I noticed there were a lot of messages from people that I expect to recieve mail from. Upon further reading I noticed that IMF and Outlook go through a set procedure for filtering Mail, using safe snder lists etc. My Junk E-Mail filter is not setup withing outlook so my saf...

Analytical Accounting posting to GL, but sometimes does not post t
Has anyone found a way to address the issue where transactions sometimes post to the GL, but not to AA? When we try and use the Analytic Adjustment Entry to make adjustments we get an error message that says: "The journal entry number you've entered doesn't exist, hasn't been posted, or is in history. Enter or select a valid journal entry number." These GL entries exist, have been posted, and are not in history. As a result the error message doesn't make sense. Any ideas? We did not have this issue with GP9, but are now having it with GP10. Andrew: I&#...

Room mailbox
I created a room mailbox in Exchange 2007 and set up all the permissions and it's working well. By default, the room mailbox is a disabled account. We currently have a "Company" address list, filtered by the description field. None of the disabled accounts (including room accounts) are listed in the "Company" Address List. Is this by design? Currently, the only way to see the room account in the Address Book or meeting request is to choose GAL or "All Rooms" address list. Is there a way to have the room account be in the "Company&quo...

Exchange server 2003 outbound mail rejection
Hi, We have SBS 2003 and are having occasional problems with E-mails being rejected, but I'm not sure why as there seems no consistency to it. The workstations are Windows XP Pro and using Outlook 2003 as well. For example, we can send an E-mail and have it come back immediately with the text and the bottom of this post. However, if we send the same E-mail again to the same recipient it works fine. It can be in the form of a reply, a new E-mail, an E-mail to someone you have never sent to before, or someone you have sent to many time before with no troubles. I'm stumped, so any h...

Administrators Mailbox
I noticed on my Server usage report that the administrator is sending a lot of emails. How can I see what these emails are and if they are some kind of spam or other infiltration. I have the latest version of virus software running, and the latest scans show no infestation. This is a new installation (within a month) and I'm not quite up to speed yet. Thanks for the help in advance. Start by looking in Sent Items of mailbox (use Outlook for this task). If nothing there tell us version of Exchange Server in use. CRM 4.0 Email Router Mailbox not deleting items
We are using the Email Router for Dynamics 4.0. An account and mailbox has been setup called CRM Mail. This accounts mailbox has grown to 9 Gig. Upon further inspection it looks like there are "forwards" of individuals emails in the Inbox of this account, that have been sent from our CRM Users. Do these messages need to remain in the Inbox or can we safely delete them? Are they supposed to be automatically deleted? Also, why are all these emails showing up? Thanks all! The emails in the forward mailbox should be deleted automatically after being processed by the router. ...

synchronized combo boxes moving between records problem
Sorry if this has been answered, I couldn't find the exact problem elsewhere! I'm only a beginner at this but when i select the right ID from the first combo box, i got it to come up with the correct related IDs in the second combo box , like it's meant to! but when I move to the next record (a new one, or the last one, or anything), the second combo box doesn't retain the record. As in, as you scroll through each record, none of the second combo box 'records' are kept, they are all blank until you click on them, then they come up with your choices, UNLESS you ...

Why does OL skip processing of rules sometimes?
....Like when I am trying to do something else like open a mail item, etc. I know that this takes cycles away from other activities, but still, why can't the thing keep track of pending moves that need to be made and 'catch up' later when it has the chance? This seems to be exactly the kind of tedious task computers are well-suited for! ;-) The alternative, me having to manually re-run the rules is defeating the entire purpose of why I have these rules in the first place! Filtering of emails is not the kind of process that I would expect to slow my system to such a crawl that i...

Moving Public Folders #5
Is there anyway to move the hiearchy in the public folder listing? We have this +Public Folders Pub Folder1 Pub Folder2 Pub Folder3 What we want is this: +Public Folders Organization Name Pub Folder1 Pub Folder2 Pub Folder3 There are over 20K items, so moving them by hand is definatly out of the question. How can we create a new top level folder then place all existing folders under that? ESM only selects one item, and PFDavAdmin doesnt seem like it can do it. Thanks. Money 2005 fails to start on Vista
My Money 2005 was working fine on Vista (see history below) but now when the splash screen comes up it dies with no error message. I've tried uninstall and reinstall using the run by Administrator options, done a registry clean up and still the same thing. I'm at a loss now as to what to do. I'd really rather not upgrade to 2007 but if anyone can offer good reasons why I should it would be appreciated. I'm really getting frustrated with MS and their failure to make Vista compatable to even their own programs! (i.e. issues with Outlook 2002 not storing a password, P...

moving IMS to new server
I am in the process of moving my Exchange 5.5 server to new hardware. I'm using the Ed Crowley method. My question is about the Internet Mail Connector. Since we use the IMS for directory replication with other sites, what is the best procedure for moving the IMS and the directory replication connectors to the new server? Does it need to be done all at once or can we do it in stages by having the IMS on both servers for awhile? I want to make sure that I do not have any disruptions in either internet mail or directory replication. Thanks a lot. Kenny "Kenny" <kstern...

Mailbox Rights #4

Exchange Failing when Removing GC from same box

Activate Mailbox Calendars without logging on as user?
Hi Exchange experts, I have created a test site with an OU of 20 users with Exchange 2003 mailboxes. I would like to use PFDAVAdmin to grant everyone read only permissions to the calendars and grant publishing editor (or equivalent) permissions on the calendars so I can populate the users with test appointments. I understood that PFDAVAdmin synchronizes free/busy info at the same time as it assigns permissions. However, I am having two problems that I would appreciate you advice on : a) I cannot seem to access the mailbox calendar properties in PFDAVAdmin until I try to access them ...
