invalid sender domain

I emailed this problem awhile back, but I didn't have the smtp logs turned on
for details on the issue.

Environment: Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2003.
We (asila.org) have a distribution list that contains external contacts and
internal users. When we send to this list, we get an error message back from
one of the domains (southlandtransit.com). that domain is hosted by
concentric.com which has rolling MX records. here is the error message:

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

zz William Crespin on 5/17/2006 8:22 AM
There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient's
email server. Please contact your system administrator.
            <mail.asila.org #5.5.0 smtp;554 <wcrespin@southlandtransit.com>:
Recipient address rejected: invalid sender domain>

Below is the tracking log. If you notice, concentric.com also host
sgtransit.com. We have three contacts with sgtransit.com that went through
fine (this time around. In the past, we would get the invalid sender domain
from sgtransit too). Seems concentric is rejecting our domain? Why?
asila.org (mail.asila.org) has reverse DNS set up. Anyone can help? Thanks!

Preserve old domain user profiles
Hi, I am migrating to SBS 2008 from a Windows 2003 Std. Ed. domain. All desktops are Vista x86 SP2. All domain users are members of the local Administrators group on their respective PCs. Migrating Domains Steps...
I recently unjoined all our servers from the domain "ABC.com" and rejoined a new Domain ans server called "XYZ.net". Needless to say, this has caused problems with Great Plains 7. When Accounting tries to Post transactions, an error is generated saying "The specified path output file does not exist". I'm not a GP admin by nature so I'm not sure what path it's referring to. I've also seen other errors implying certain recources cannot be accessed or found. We're using SQL7. I did notice there are shared drives on the actual server with 2...

CRM 1.2 unable to add users in OU but domain root OK.
Hello. I am having trouble adding users to CRM 1.2. If I try to add a CRM user from an OU in the domain with deployment manager or the web GUI it fails. If I add a user to CRM from the root of the domain the user is added fine to CRM. In our test environment I was able to add users to CRM that are in OU's in a test domain without any trouble. Any ideas? Thanks!! Mike ...

Outlook offline without domain ???
Hi Is it possible to have outlook installed on a pc not in the domain and install the offline client beeing able to sync offline, maybe with IFD ? /Jack I think you could try installing Outlook CRM by choosing the "Service Provider" option and then specifying the IFD URL for the CRM server. Are you also planning to allow such users the download of their normal Mails into the Outlook client ?(when they are not in the network, but connected to the organizations exchange server over the web) "CRM master" wrote: > Hi > > Is it possible to have outlook insta...

Exchange 2003
Howdy: We ahve recently migrated from an existing WinNT4/Exchange 5.5 Installation to a new Win2k3/Exchange 2003 mixed mode installation. All went well with the first server install but I am having problems installing the second and getting it to accept mail probably due to the reasonably complex computing environment. In short: All external mail is first handled via one of six UNIX servesr which does a look up and forwards the mail to the appropriate server in the format user@server.domain.com. This worked well enough with a single server, for the average Exchange customer the UNIX would...

seperate domains
We have a customer with two seperate domains. All e-mail is being sent to domainA@domain.com For many users than this e-mail is being forwarded to domainB@domain.com. Is it a correct solution to forward e-mail from one domain to another domain or is there an easier solution? Ramon Do you mean user@domainA.com and user@domainB.com instead? Do you host both domains on the same server? If so, set up the appropriate addresses for both domains in the user's e-mail address properties. Invalid Argument 08-14-04
I have a db created in access 2000 and I am running it in access 2002. I get "invalid argument" message when I try to save copies of some large tables. I get the same message when I try to edit fields in the tables, and when I try to add an ole object to a field designed for ole objects. Do I need to change a setting in access 2002 to get it to work? If not, any idea what my problem might be? There is no message for it but this is the error that normally means that the database has grown too large and is "bloated". Try compacting the database (Tools -> Database Uti...

Mutiplule Domains through one exchange server
I hope I am explaining this correctly. I have an exchnage server that I am using for my mail server. I have to domains on this server xxx.com and yyy.com. We use Outlook as our desktop mail cleint and we connect via exchange mail. My problem is I can get my mail from both xxx and yyy but when I want to send mail I am only able to use xxx. Is there anyway I can set up outlook or exchange to take care of this. Thanks Rob Not quite sure what you meant but Exchange can host multiple mail domains. Users can have multiple mail domain e-mail addresses or a single domain e-mail address. I...

Multiple Exchange boxes in one domain
Hi all, I have the following setup for my domain: HQ: Server 2003 Exchange 2003 We have a branch office located on another industrial estate 1/2 mile away, and we currently connect to them via WiFi (11Mb) and they are in the same domain and subnet as us. I am looking to add a second exchange box at their site so they can get their mail "locally". When I look at setting it up tho ot seems that exchange will still send the messages across the WiFi due to there only being 1 MX record? Is there a way I can get them to recive their mail directly over their own Broadband link? Also ...

Fake domain user can send messages
Hi, we are tryinng to make sure our Exchange server is not an open relay. We are happy about everything except for this: a fake user like fakeuser@ourdomain.com can actually send email to other real @ourdomain.com users (not to external users not belonging to our domain). How can we prevent users not listed in our active directory from sending e-mail to other real active directory users? Thanks!!! Well... if you do like to do that:, you need to also block real@yourdomain.com senders to send incomming mail through external SMTPs. Use Message Delivery under Global Settings to set Sender...

domain user's new SID...?
Hi All, We got a new user, added him to our domain, added him as CRM user, and everything worked fine. But we had to delete him as user in the domain for some reasons, and add him again. The user name is the same, but he got a new SID in our domain. Now, when I try to install CRM on his machine, the installation says that it cannot log on CRM, and that the reason is probably that the user is not added as CRM user. But when I log on CRM, I can see the user being there. What can I do to solve this problem? I looked in the dbo.SystemUserBase table (we use SQL 2005) Our_company_name_MSCR...

Exchange using local domain name and not e-mail domain name
We just installed a brand new Exchange 2003 system and it is using the domain name of our LAN (IE. 123.com) when our Internet domain is actually something different(IE. 123intl.com). How would I go about changing the name of the Exchange system to reflect the proper Internet domain name? In the SMTP protocols of each user I could change the domain names manually, but I don't think this is an ideal solution, and the x.400 protocol has the same 'wrong' information. Update it on your Recipient Policy. "Ed" <ed@sailtd.com> wrote in message news:00f001c3d150$be...

I am running exchange 2003 sp2 with sender ID enabled. the message we get abck from the NDR is "user unknown" i have tested this out from two different exchange 2003 server. When i look at the NDR that comes back the recipients mail server, the sender ID rating is a fail. Does the fail mean that the domain they claim to be sending email from is not actually there domain?
