Free/Busy Info and OWA 2003 Issue.

Greetings!
We are running Exchange 2003 Front-End, Back-End and Exchange 5.5 in a mixed
mode. Exchange 5.5 does not host any mailboxes or public folders. They all
were migrated to the Exch 2003 Back-End server .We are getting an issue where
clients using OWA 2003 are not able to see the Free/Busy information for the
other users when scheduling a meeting, however it works just fine with the old
OWA 5.5 . This works also if people are using full Outlook client
2000,2003,XP - no problems with the Free/Busy time at all.
Thanks in advance!

Did you create a replica of the Free/Busy folder on the Exchange 2003
server? Also look at the other system folders.

Yes,the replica of the Free/Busy folder is on all the Exchange servers, even
on the Front-End ,knowing that it is not recommended. What is also strange
that after installing and configuring auto accept agent on all the conference
rooms (7 of them) they are working in OWA and we can see their Free/Busy time
plus our own.
What other system folders do you have to look at?
Thanks!

You don't want a store on the front-end. Maybe that's your problem.

Check this one out!
Just created a brand new mailbox on Exch 2003,scheduled a meeting to itself
to activate Free/Busy - WORKED LIKE A CHARM. I was able to see it in OWA 2003.
So why it is not working for the most of the migrated Exch 5.5 mailboxes -
That is the question!

Have you created a new appt in one of those migrated mailboxes to see
if it shows up?

Message journaling will do this for all accounts. I'm not sure if that's
what you're asking. If you only need it for one mailbox you can put that
mailbox in its own mailbox store (if you're running Exchange 200x
Enterprise).

Vlade & Andy ,

I apologise if I seem to be hijacking your thread as I have the same problem
which seems to be identified by the following MS Article
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B813152

Andy ,

Could you let me know if the following is the correct action to solve this
problem.

I have 3 Exchange Servers BE/FE i.e. Server01(FE) Server02(BE) Server03(BE)
Checking the System Folders under Folders -> Public Folders I find the entry
for the Schedule+Free Busy folder which has Server01 on the Replication Tab.

Can I add Server02 and Server 03 in addition to Server01 in the replication
tab?

Once replication has been completed can I remove the Schedule&FreeBusy from
Server01?

For some reason (obviously my doing???) I have Mailbox Store and Public
Folder Store on Server01 which I presume should not have these as it is a
front end server. No user mailboxes or Public Folders have been created on
these... I also wondered what the safest procedure would be of cleaning
these up and then dismounting/deleting the databases on this server.?

Regards

Many Thanks.

David
