feedback on SPAM filtering solutions

Any one want to chime in on what are the "better" solutions for spam
filtering with Exchange 2003? I have looked at GFI Mail Essentials,
Symantec Mail Security, and McAfee SPAMKiller.

Any suggesstions or comments are welcome. Thanx!

I'm using Sybari's Advanced Spam defense. So far it's catching 99% of all spam. I'm very happy with their product.

I"ve been looking into Postini. But have you checked out the built-in
capabilities of Exchange 2003 ?

spending your time on the 'built' in anti-spam features of exchange is great if you like manual labor. Sybari has the best product so far and we evaluated several vendors including postini. Sybari is subscription-based similar to most anti-virus packages, so it's more comprehensive, up-to-date, and automated. But more than that, it works. The others just didn't compare. Sybari also puts out specialized anti-virus products for exchange (anti-gen), sharepoint, and others.

I am using Hexamail Guard . It is very easy to set up and blocks nearly all
spam at our site. You can get a fully functional trial version from them so
you can test it out first. Really good support too.

how to filter dates?
I am trying to filter out a number of date groups from a large data base. I have not had much luck using advanced filter with wildcards. how do I go about filtering aout certain months from a large range of years? One way would need a helper column with the formula - =month(A1) This will return the month number from the target cell and sorting on the helper column will bring all the entries together by month. Using the Median function with Auto-filter
How do I get median (=median(A1:A50000) to show a result for only filtered cells? When I autofilter on a different column and the number of visible cells is reduced by the filter, the median stays the same as the unfiltered list. Thanks! Mark, You could use a column of helper cells. In B1 enter =IF(SUBTOTAL(3,A1)=0,"",A1) and copy down to match column A. Then array enter the formula (enter using Ctrl-Shift-Enter) =MEDIAN(IF(B1:B50000<>"",B1:B50000)) Filtering column A will change the result of the SUBTOTAL functions, and thus the res...

Inserting Filtered RC cell information into other worksheets

access 2007 filtering
Somehow, in a database with four tables, I've lost the ability to filter on all tables. That is, when you click on the column header, only the sort option is available. The "select all" and other field values do not show. In the ribbon toolbar, click on the button FILTERS. This simply changes the column headings to something similar to what you would see in Excel (unfortunately). If you click on the dropdown for one of the column headings, you can then select the value for that column on which you wish to filter. On good thing about 07 is that when you click on the d...

data changes after sorting or filtering
When I sort or filter a worksheet Excel changes some of the entries. It takes information in one or two cells and moves them around within the same column. I can't figure out the logic of the change, if it moves it down one space or why it changes certain entries and not others. It doesn't even always change the same column or only one column at a time but does always keep the transferred data within its original column. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?
