File level backup of exchange server
We are using an offline backup (via internet). This backup only does a file
system backup of the exchange folders. My questions is what are the
implications of this sort of backup? Would restoring exchange files be a
workable way to restore exchange when we need it?

We are trying to setup Exchange 2003 to send messages to a particular domain
in plain text format regardless of what the Outlook client is setup to use.
I have done the following:
Exchange System Manager>Global Settings>Internet Message
Formats>Right-click, New, Domain.
I am testing this with my gmail account so I enter "Gmail.com" as the domain
name. Under Message Format, I have selected MIME and "Provide message body
as plain text". Character sets are US ASCII. On the advanced tab, Exchange
Rich Text and word-wrap are set to "Never Use."

We have a Windows 2000 Active Directory forest with Exchange 2000 servers and
an NT4 domain. There is an external trust relationship setup.
Users who log onto the NT4 domain, cannot download the Offline address book.
They are using Outlook 2003 with Cached exchange mode.
Although, users who logon to the NT4 domain can access their mailboxes on
Exchange in the forest, because we have gone into to Mailbox rights on their
Active Directory accounts and given their NT4 accounts full mailbox access.
This has worked, but they can't still download the Offline Address Book, it

I have a scheduled task running xcopy. When I run XCOPY manually, it works
and outputs data to a log file. the command is
xcopy %fromCopy% %toCopy% /Q /E /I /M /Z /Y > xcopy.log
When run under a scheduled task, with a local admin account, the log is not
updated, although the xcopy works. Why does the log not update? The log file
is in the same directory as xcopy.

I have Outlook XP and receive alot of spam from different specific domain
names. When i mean a lot it's about 75-100 per day at least.
Problem is when I add them to my Unwanted list it doesnt ban the whole
domain but just the exact same e-mail adress that sent the message.
For each spam message i receive the Domain change e-mail name but of course
not their domain extention like this example :
thing is I keep & keep receiving spam from them since they change it every

SQL 2005 SP3 Standard.
I used to assign execution permission to stored procedures; you all
know the benefits of this choice.
With the use of LINQ, developers move routines into Visual Studio,
asking for datareader and datawriter permissions, with clear security
How can I do to mitigate this situation ?
Which are best practices in this case ?

- The CERN libraries can be used in your own code - it's not a complete
implementation (imo) nor compiled/installable code.
- Doubt MS will work on implementing this in Exchange given it has a
competing technology already implemented in the form of Sender ID in
