Exchange Administrator #2

Hey,

I just installed Exchange 2003 on Windows 2003 server.  But when i open up 
Exchange Adminstrator, I keep on getting this error message, how do i fix 
this problem?

Error:
Title: Microsoft Exchange Administrator
Message: A Connection could not be made to the microsoft exchange server 
computer 'EXCH'.

The Microsoft exchange server computer does not respond.

Microsoft Exchange Directory

What is it you're trying to do? Exchange System Manager is for managing the
Exchange server- ADUC is for users/mailbox info, etc

I am not really sure, i got a book on Exchange Server 2003 and it tells me 
to go in too "System Manager" & "Exchange 5.5 Administrator".  But when i 
open it i get error messages.

Don't use Exchange Administrator if you don't have an Exchange 5.x server.
Exchange System Manager is probably what you want. Or ADUC fro the Exchange
program menu.
Not sure what you're really having a problem with, here.....

I connect to a Linux IMAP server remotely for my emails. When I click on an email in Outlook P once the headers have been updated the system seems to download the email and the attachement. All I want to do is read the message before I download the attachment - Is this possible? Its a bit of a problem if an email has a 3mb attachement and all I want to do is read the mail content before deciding to download the attachment - especially a pain if I am CC into some mail. Ok, have read the article on how to add, which is a piece of cake, as it does it for you... only issue I have is that I built newsgroup for microsoft, and it's populates outlook2003, but nothing is in there? I've looked for the obvious, and searched this newsgroup???/ AL You can't use Microsoft's NNTP server as a pull feed - they restrict it to only certain servers. We currently have an Exchange 2000 environment. We want to stand up an Exchange 2003 server and begin to transition users over to the 2003 box. migrating Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003
I want to run /forestprep and /domain prep in order for me to be ready to install the AD connector that would help me out with my migration. What are the cons of doing this?? is it safe. Inability to connect with exchange server using entourage

Exchange 2003 Standard Edition Store Limit
I have Exchange 2003 Standard edition. My current Priv.edb size is 13GB and my priv.stm file is 3.2GB. I know there is a 16GB limit per database. How can I be over that number and still have mail flowing? Is it because I have so much whitespace in the database(almost 3GB) acording to event 1221 in the application log. I have installed eConnect on my laptop (XP SP2) and am trying to integrate into a local GP install. I've set up a DTS task that puts the xml file into the econnect_incoming80 queue. I have a control on a form which is a Date/Time control called "txtcd1retd", its fomat is dd/mm/yy There is another control called "txtYear" with it control source =Year([txtcd1retd]).
